Any sauce with this carvalho story

    New I mean
  • Sadly just don't see Carvalho going to us, think the club are kean and Carvalho does want to go the team EPL.....but at a bigger club and this is just a bit to prompt someone into gazumping us
  • As always I will be blindly optimistic and say hes coming!

(note to self: learn from Bats ;weep )
  • What a signing that would be and what a transfer window!
  • More from Jinxed on KUMB;
    Talks ongoing

We're at 30 they're at 37 (release clause) should meet somewhere in the middle today
    Here's hoping ;pray
  • What's encouraging here is that it seems we have a player who actually wants to come and play for our club. Ditto hart, arny and chicharito. I know £££ will play a big part, however you only need to roll back a year when we were prepared to offer a big fee and package to Bacca and the bloke had no interest in joining us.
  • I would be really surprised if there are legs to this story, as I wasn't now expecting us to do anymore business.

I've never seen him play, but he seems to be highly-rated by everybody else, so very exciting ;thumbsup

If he's as good as I'm hearing, would this represent our best PL transfer window ever?
  • Glad the club didn't really mean 'no more CM's'. ;thumbsup
  • I still also think we will be after a striker loan too at the end of the window, having shifted a few out
  • is Carvalho really a 30m+ player ? from what I have being told from friends whose clubs were previously linked with him. He is good but not a game changer that some people seem to be making out.

But I guess if its a position that is really that important maybe it would be for us.
  • They did say 'no more exciting signings' and DM does come under that category.
  • Apparently Lanzini will sign a new 85k a week contract ;hmm that would quash any roundabout fears of Lanzini to Liverpool with Coutinho up in the air.
  • Don't let the old 'signed a new contract' ruse fool you. Just means we'll get more when he goes, which he won't. ;whistle
  • "Couple of hurdles to jump yet"

So his having his medical already.... ;yercoat
  • One of the hurdles would be the CL qualifier later this month I would presume.

Did they actually say that? ;hmm Maybe Carvalho was somebody who Slav didn't think would be available, but then suddenly was.
  • Yeold

Depends how you define 'game changer'.

If a player could come in and stop the opposition waltzing through our back line at will, that would be a significant change, imo.
  • Yeh, our defence has been our biggest problem. If hart, zab and supposedly carvalho can't help make that better, then we may aswell all pack up and go home.
  • 22 points lost from winning position last season.....

I've got my train ticket booked, case zipped up and am just wondering when my lift to the station is going to turn up.

  • BREAKING: West Ham have agreed personal terms with William Carvalho. Clubs just need to agree a fee now.

    [Diario de Noticias]

  • Meanwhile Liverpool say Coutinho "definitively" not for sale (BBC).

BBC now reporting on Sky rumours that he's handed in a transfer request.
  • Personally I'd like to see Nobes playing a few games without a double hernia before I write him off. Anybody who thinks it would not have made a difference to his performances last year is not to be taken seriously IMO.

Think noble will still be a good squad player and his injury obviously affected him last year but I think he will struggle to get into the team ( if we sign carvallho) and I don't want to see him being in a Kevin Nolan type situation where he is playing based on past reputation. He has been an outstanding servant to the club but I think he is now in decline and lacks the pace and tackling ability to be a top defensive midfielder and not creative enough for a centre midfielder imo
  • That Language is normally used when in dispute... ;hmm

Bilic on Lanzini "No player is bigger than the club. He knows his contract situation & we will do everything possible to sort him out."
  • ;nonono

    What's going on with Lanzini?
  • "Couple of hurdles to jump yet"

So his having his medical already.... ;yercoat

Maybe they're going to have him run in the 110m hurdles final as a fitness test....
  • While the window is open and rumours are swirling, the press will always ask those sorts of questions in the pre-match pressers.
  • But don't forget

    ;quaver Everybody loves Lanzini
Cos he plays the West Ham way ;quaver
