luckily you only noticed one ;whistle
  • If Winston Reid chose not to leave for Arsenal when his contract was nearly up meaning a nice signing on fee, champions league football for a genuine top four at the time team I cannot see him being interested in Everton at this time. Koeman looks a good manager and will likely move himself in the not to distant. Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at Arsenal actually.

    ;nonono

    I'd be very surprised.

(edit - Oh, wait - you mean Koeman, not Reid? My bad.)
  • Neymar's father asked PSG to delay formal negotiations with Barcelona over a £450m deal for his son until after 31 July - that is the day when he earns a £23.3m commission for his part in persuading the forward to sign a new contract with the Nou Camp club last October.

Nice to see all is fair in Football! ;nonono
  • Well you would be a bit miffed to see £23.3m disappear a day or two before it was due. ;weep
  • Neymar's (and his father) are still under investigation for corruption. (The cases about tax evasion and fraud have gone away. Barcelona admitted it paid 100m and not 57m Euros for him, as they had originally claimed, and they 'settled' the tax fraud case by paying a fine.)
  • Boudebouz (another algerian) tipped to replace feghouli.

Galatasaray have confirmed that Feghouli has joined them.

So that leaves three signings from last summer still standing.
  • Yeah, pretty damning indictment of last summers window.

But at least it gives us a chance to put it right.

Assuming we are now operating a one out, one in policy, I assume we'll be targeting a winger soon.
  • I could never boo de booze ;yercoat
  • I dont think the crowd will 'swallow' the speculation or consequently 'worship' Buddha booze (any room on that walk Herb? ;yercoat )
  • Plenty ;ok
  • had a feeling that'd be the case ;biggrin
  • He seems an exciting talent and the "type" of player that Lanzini is which will be very useful as no one I'm the squad atm can do what Lanzini does

Sad to see Feghouli go but he was on big wages which the club thought would be better spent elsewhere

And wth all due respect if Feghouli was THAT good better teams than galatasaray would be in for him
  • Boo boys? So you're saying we will 'Al ger' him of he comes ;run
  • back on topic... yes please to Boudebouz... See, I did it, no puns or quips, nothing ;wahoo
  • If we do get Boudebouz, he will be able to meet most of the team in the sick bay.

    "NO REID DEPARTURE

West Ham will turn down any interest in defender Winston Reid.

The London Evening Standard reports Everton are considering a £9m move for the New Zealand international.

But the paper adds West Ham are ready to reject all offers for the 29-year-old."

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but does Reid have a buyout clause in his contract (like £20mil)

If so think it's worth the club looking at raising that given the inflated market
  • To raise the buy out they would need to raise his wages,
  • I'm getting the hang of this journalism lark.

Day 1 select a player at random and link him with a club at random or if bothered one that may need a player in that position.

Day 2 fill the columns by stating that the club is not interested in a sale.

I'm not sure I'm any the wiser after reading what Slav has to say about more transfers.

Although we shouldn't expect any 'exciting' signings ;lol ;lol

Be careful. If you dig anymore we might have to deal with you.
  • 9m for Winston Reid, I think someone is trying to rob someone.

Reid is a great player, with a great temperament who conducts himself well. Were we to consider selling I think 20m would be the minimum we would even start a conversation from, but hope the report is correct and that he is not for sale at any price.

I think Ferghouli's move is right for everyone as although he did show signs of ability I feel he would have been quite a way from commanding a place in the starting 11. It was a disastrous window last summer but all anyone can do is learn from them, and this is seems we are doing.

Last season Players from Turkey etc without adequate experience at premiership level whilst this year four players all with said experience. If the club did it again we have a problem but they have clearly recognised the failure of last seasons window and are spending what is necessary. Now keep our best such as Reid and Lanzini and we will be stronger, which is exactly the point of a transfer window.
  • ;hmm so no more exciting signings so any player we try and get will now know that hes not exciting .why not say any player we get will benefit the squad and help push us to the next level
  • I'm delighted with our business and think we've done superbly. Not worried at all about who else we do or don't sign.

I took the 'exciting' bit to mean: we aren't signing another striker.
  • I'll pretend to be unexcited by this if it helps us sign him. yawn

    HAMMERS IN BOUDEBOUZ BATTLE

Real Betis have lodged a €7m offer to Montpellier for West Ham target Ryad Boudebouz, according to France Football.

The Hammers have been monitoring developments regarding the Algerian playmaker for some time are understood to be interested in signing him.

The Hammers face a battle to bring him to the London Stadium though, with Genoa, Bayer Leverkusen and Sampdoria joining Betis on the trail of the 27-year-old.

For me, what Slav was saying in the interview about 'exciting' meant no more players who could expect to go straight into our starting line-up. He made the point that once the season starts, some players will not be happy to be 'understudy' and may look to leave, in which case we would look to replace them with players not guaranteed a start at their current clubs. - so players who would lack that 'wow' factor.

However, it seemed to me that he also left the door open for an 'exciting' transfer if someone unexpected became available.
  • I think it's smart and continues the smart summer by the club.

We won't be held to ransom by clubs, if a good deal comes up great but don't take the mick...

I really hope the board learn from this summer that keeping it quiet and getting it done early is the way to go.
