If Adrian goes as well, then it is almost inevitable that whoever we get to replace him will not be as good, or they wouldn't agree to come to be a 'guaranteed' backup.
A back-up keeper is inevitably not as good, otherwise they wouldn't be happy being a back-up. Like Adrian and Randy wanting to leave as soon as it was clear Hart would be our No. 1.
The problem with our keepers is we had two broadly at the same level, neither of which would be of the quality to help us kick on (I know we finished well in slavs first season, however this was largely to do with the number of goals we scored)
If Adrian goes too, it is likely that we end up with one keeper better than the other with the other being slightly inferior to adrian/randy - personally I think is ok?
Does seem like a bit of a gamble by the two D's unless they know something we don't.
Loaning Hart for a year but losing both our contracted keepers with good Prem experience. If Adrian does move on it seems like we have swapped solid depth in that position for higher quality and higher risk.
My hope is that we can persuade Adrian to stay although I would completely understand him leaving.
Its a stupid decision as it puts City in the driving seat in negotiations since we would need a keeper. Unless a fee has been agreed to buy him at the end of the loan, really are going to shove an extra 20m on Hart ? stupid long term planning there.
Bit of noise on Twitter about Brentford's Bentley. West Ham fan apparently, and only 24 so may be more prepared to be understudy to Hart as part of his development.
I would not blame Adrian for leaving as I would think that anyone with his experience would be looking for a No 1 slot, however, I would also think that a younger keeper would relish the idea of being Harts understudy.
By all accounts, Hart is a good egg and if I was Bilic I would look to manage his expectations and make the mentoring of a capable but inexperienced No 2 as part of the deal.
You have to be careful of keepers, I was at the Bradford City game when Shaka went off injured in the first couple of minutes, a very young Stephen Bywater came off the bench to make his debut, as he ran on you could tell that his chest was pumped and he must have felt 10 feet tall, unfortunately for him, he made a mess of his first cross and looked terrified of the ball for the rest of the game and let in 4 goals.
We ended up winning it 5-4, it was great game and the atmosphere was electric, the crowd knew that Bywater was vulnerable and it was just as clear that the team were determined not to lose that game and I recall Rio in particular going up to Bywater and putting his arms over his shoulder at the end.
The thing is, although he never made the position his own for us when in the premiership, Bywater was a decent keeper and he made a good career for himself in the championship, I wonder if he might have made the grade had he been better protected and prepared for his debut with us.
A club source said “A medical has been taking place and it is touch and go whether the results come back tonight or tomorrow because blood and heart test tests usually take more than a few hours”
“We would love to have it all completed this evening in order to make an official announcement but if that is not possible, all things equal, we will do so tomorrow”
Medical done. Quotes from claret and hugh article. Announcement tonight or tomorrow.

Adrian's performance in 2015/16 was good enough to get him a call up to the Spanish squad in August
Not sure why Ranfy and Adrian are being dissed. Made a couple of mistakes apiece but what keeper didn't? Loris, Mignolet, Cech, any Citeh keeper made plenty.
;weep would be gutted if Adrian went but would understand why he would .however it would leave a hole and if Hart left after this season ,could turn into our striker problem all over again .and with our luck what happens if Hart gets injured
Although I would be disappointed if Adrian left he did make more than a couple of mistakes last year that resulted in him being dropped. I think we needed improvement in the goal keeping dept and if it means we get a new keeper as back up them I am ok with that. It's all talk at the min until Adrian says he wants to go I am not going to worry about it
Is this our Baz? Not the pic but the twitter account quoted?
Twitter is anti Baz because it only allows short tweets. That's not working for me ;whistle He's an imposter Baz and our only link is that I once had to take a little P in Stepney ;run
What keeper hasn't made mistakes? I struggle to think of a keeper I would want in the PL apart from a handful who would probably be extremely difficult to attract. While the two might be replaceable it seems like there are an awful lot variables. Adrian was much better at the end of the season when he regained his spot - whoever replaces him, if we do have to start from nothing next season might not settle with us or the league (if coming from outside the PL).
Adrian's an average PL goalkeeper but so are most of them, including most of the keepers playing for the top teams.
Agreed, but I think Hart is above average, which is why I'm saying I'd rather have a top 'keeper for one season, than a dime-a-dozen for the next five, especially if having Hart on loan gives us even a slight chance of signing him permanently.
I think the idea that Randy and Adrian are decidedly average will be concurred by where they end up, which at best will be bottom five of the PL, backup somewhere else or Championship.
Don't get me wrong, I really like them both. I just don't think they have any qualities we'll ever miss, apart from being characters.

Even if Adrian stays no.2 this year, I'd be unhappy if he was our no.1 again next season, should Hart not sign.
The when it become clear there was no buy clause even more the short term nature of this strategy is a worry.
However some people convinced me that there is justification for this approach.
In the end we may only get one season but even if we bought a Brilliant GK we would probably lose him in the summer anyway...
If Hart leaves next summer, we'll spend the money on somebody else better than Randy and Adrian.

Just rambling thoughts

I think if we loose Randolph and Adrian because we have loaned Hart for one season it will be poor business.
