  • I know it's just paper talk, but:
Watford are to demand £35m for striker Troy Deeney this summer.
    (from the Birmingham Mail)

Can't help but feel they forgot the decimal point...

I think that's just code for 'not for sale'

If someone bid £20m I'm sure they'll sell.
  • Todays new striker link is Martin Braithwaite from Toulouse ;hmm
  • Tbf he gets linked every window.

Bit like the old classic 'Tomkins to Newcastle'
  • The only 35 that should be associated with Deeney is in "lb's" and what he should lose

    #Chunkey
  • Zab is a decent signing, just what we needed at RB, solid experience and help Byram longer term
  • I can't help but thinking that this whole 'older player helps younger player' notion is a bit of a myth and spin. Will it really happen this way in the case of Byram? What will help him more IMO is having a better defensive coach working with him (and others) than the one we've got.
  • Problem is he has no pace. So if he's ahead of Byram that's our average pace levels further reduced.
  • Baracks - I think the one we've got is the manager.
  • Anyone got a list of Freebies of peoples contracts up. Any worth taking a punt on ?

I'm sure Sully has that fully up to date list

    Who's 'mything' or spinning it?

I put it out as an idea. I've read lots of players talk about how they learn off other players.

IF we get Zab, I'd be very surprised if there aren't things he can help Brian with, and very disappointed if the club didn't take advantage of his knowledge and experience.
  • I'm happy to take Zab. He's a full back who knows how to defend, which is a trait that has been sadly missing from us all season.

    Good move Hammers.
  • At least Lanzini will have another Argie friend
  • Apparently he is very close to Iheanacho and helped him a lot hen he first burst onto the scene.....maybe he can be a key to securing his signature infront of the likes of Everton
  • 2 striker please Dave and if Ayew goes one Tadic / Siggurdsson please :)
  • Todays new striker link is Martin Braithwaite from Toulouse ;hmm

I don't know anything about him but really can't get very excited just because of the name. Sorry. It brings to mind the Chief Executive of the Traffic Cone Initiative on Cleethorpes Town Council rather than 20 goals a season. Can't we for once be linked with the likes of feisty young Romanian striker Vlad The Impaler.
  • Good news for Zabs, the no.5 shirt is vacant so he can keep the number he had a City
  • Todays new striker link is Martin Braithwaite from Toulouse ;hmm

One goal per three games last season which equates to 12 in the Premier League, Antonio got 9.
  • But let's just pretend for a second that it's true ;hmm

    ;wahoo ;wahoo ;wahoo ;wahoo ;wahoo
  • Wouldn't be the strangest thing as we are clearly talking to City through the Zab deal, a well respected team mate he has known for a good while speaking highly of and moving to us could be all he needed to take a punt on us as we are on him.
  • I think it would be a great deal if we could pull it off, long term if Fletcher and Martinez can get up there too alongside Inehnacho that's a strike force that could go for a long time all 3 around the 20 age mark.
  • It will be a cracking bit of business if it comes off.

Really? I'm not completely convinced. Do we need any more 'for the future' forwards. ;hmm
  • says city have the right to buy him back after 2 years ,not sure I like the sound of that ,just a 2 year loan if that's true
  • 4 Pl goals this season.

Yep I agree. We should not be shelling £20m on anyone unless they are ready to play in the first team right away
  • In the unlikely event this came off, I'd be pretty sure that he would be considered as a starter.
