Having lost the morning session to rain, NZ continued to grind an increased lead, until finally Potts makes a breakthrough, 235-4, a lead of 439.

buffybegood · December 2024

NZ reach 274-4 at tea.

buffybegood · December 2024

With Stokes off the field having done his hamstring bowling 😭😭😭, Pope continues his dreadful run of unsuccessful reviews with a shocking waste, the ball hitting the pad well outside the line.

buffybegood · December 2024

Williamson finally goes for 156, Bashir with the wicket. NZ 327-5, a lead of 531.

buffybegood · December 2024

Another wasted review by Pope 😂🤣😂.

buffybegood · December 2024

Bethell takes his first Test wicket, caught on the boundary by Potts. NZ 375-6, a lead of 579.

buffybegood · December 2024

Bashir takes another, caught by Carse in the deep. 380-7.

buffybegood · December 2024

Root in on the act, NZ 443-8, and Southee takes the field to another guard of honour from England, searching 2 6s to reach 100.

buffybegood · December 2024

Southee holes out going for a 6, but doesn't manage to add to his tally of 98 Test 6s. Bethell with his 2nd wicket.

buffybegood · December 2024

And Bethell takes the final wicket with the next ball, NZ all out for 453, setting England 658 to win.

buffybegood · December 2024

Duckett goes, 8-1.

buffybegood · December 2024

Crawley goes to Henry, for the 6th time in 6 innings. A bit unlucky as it was barely clipping leg stump, but he was given out onfield. 18-2.

buffybegood · December 2024

18-2 at close of play.

buffybegood · December 2024

Root goes for 54, 122-3.

thornburyiron · December 2024

Looked as if the ball hit him on the left toe and turned onto his right pad which would have meant it was missing leg when it hit him but ball tracking made it look as if it pitched and turned onto his pad.

thornburyiron · December 2024

Brook gone for 1, 133-4. 525 still needed.

buffybegood · December 2024

Brook goes for 1, 133-4.

buffybegood · December 2024

Bethell goes for 76, 166-5.

buffybegood · December 2024

Pope goes, 215-6.

buffybegood · December 2024

Atkinson gone for 43, 231-7.

buffybegood · December 2024

Potts goes second ball, 231-8.

buffybegood · December 2024

Bashir coming in, looks like Stokes isn't going to bat, no point risking doing further damage to his injury in a completely hopeless cause.

buffybegood · December 2024

234-9 and it's all over as Stokes isn't batting. England lose by 424 runs, the biggest ever runs victory for NZ.

buffybegood · February 2025

England begin their Champions Trophy campaign against an Australian side led by cheat Steve Smith, so even more reason than usual to want to beat them. Australia have won the toss and have elected to field; if the dew comes in later on then batting should be easier for Australia.

England need to change things up from their recent white ball performances.

buffybegood · February 2025

Great start, Salt goes in the second over.

buffybegood · February 2025

And now Jamie Smith, in at no.3, goes cheaply as well, 43-2 in just the 6th over. Root comes out still in the opening powerplay.

buffybegood · February 2025

73-2 at the end of the opening powerplay, it doesn't feel enough on what is a very good batting pitch.

buffybegood · February 2025

Root goes for 68 off 78 balls, given lbw and it's umpire's call on review. England 201-3 after 31 overs, Brook the new batsman.

buffybegood · February 2025

Duckett reaches his century off 95 balls.

buffybegood · February 2025

Brook goes for just 3, 219-4.
