  • Fortunately the plan works a second time not too long afterwards, Bennett not adding another run before he again offers a much easier chance to Pope at short leg off a this time compliant Tongue. 246-6.
  • A lovely ball by Bashir gets his third, and England's seventh wicket, 251-7.
  • A good review by Stokes and Zimbabwe lose another, lbw, to Atkinson. 258-8.
  • Atkinson gets another, and that's the end of the Zimbabwe innings as a player, injured yesterday, isn't coming out to bat. 265-9, 300 behind, and, somewhat unusually these days, England enforce the follow on; it's completely understandable though, in a 4 day Test with suspect weather forecast for tomorrow.
  • Atkinson strikes early in the Zimbabwe second innings, trapping the first innings centurian Brian Bennett lbw for just 1 second time around, 3-1.
  • Pope takes another easy catch at short leg, again off Josh Tongue, 7-2.
  • 30-2 at the close.
  • England finally think they have a wicket, but the lbw decision is overturned on review.
  • Bashir, who was previously denied, finally does make the breakthrough, although only just. Given onfield, the lbw decision was only just clipping the stumps, and the umpire's call was decisive. 129-3, still 171 behind.
  • 141-3 at lunch.
  • Another wicket for Bashir shortly after lunch, caught by Stokes. 142-4.
  • That review took sometime, was it PGMOL doing it
  • Outstanding catch at a wide 2nd slip by Brook off Stokes, I thought the ball was past him, but a really, really good catch, single arm high above his head as he leaped skywards brings the wicket. 207-5.
  • Bashir holds his head in dismay as he gets the ball to rip through the batsman and runs off towards the boundary, but it clipped leg stump on the way through and dislodged a bail. 218-6.

Another wicket for Bashir, caught towards the boundary by Root who makes no mistake this time, (double) Nelson strikes, 222-7.

Brook with a much simplier catch, off Bashir this time who now has 5 wickets in the innings and 8 in the match. 241-8.
  • Another wicket for Bashir, completely plumb lbw. And that's it as Zimbabwe only have 10 batsmen due to the first innings injury to a player. England win by an innings and 45 runs.

Buffy, if Herb and Expat hadn't posted (and me), you'd have had two whole pages to yourself. =)

I do like talking to myself, guaranteed intelligent conversation 😂🤣😂.
  • The first of the ODIs against the West Indies has just started, we lost the toss and have been put in, with Jamie Smith opening and Jos Buttler in and 5 and keeping. Personally I think Smith is the better keeper.
  • Smith goes for 37, 64-1.
  • Duckett goes to a very good catch, 60 off 48 balls, 137-2 off 19.1 overs.
  • Root goes for 57 off 65 balls, 188-3 off 27 overs.
  • Brook goes for 58 off 45 balls, 221-4 off 31 overs.
  • Buttler goes for 37 off 32, 287-5 off 40.2 overs
  • Jacks out for 39 off 24 balls, 385-6 with 15 balls remaining.
  • Now Overton gone. England collapsing at the end. 🤣🤣
  • Overton caught towards the boundary by a very good catch over his shoulder by Chase, 391-7 with 10 balls remaining.
  • 393-7 with one over remaining, and Bethell, on 82, on strike. Will we reach 400? Will Bethell get a century?
  • No century for Bethell as he edges one behind, 82 off just 53 balls.
