Dean Ashton has praised West Ham for their ability to keep hold of midfielder Dimitri Payet.
"He was absolutely off the charts at the European Championships, I was never worried he was going to leave," he told Sky Sports Now.
"I think he liked the fact he's been treated like a hero at West Ham and he was thankful he did it himself, but West Ham gave him the platform to get him in to that France squad and do what he did.
"He's a fantastic player and its going to be interesting to see [new Chelsea signing N'Golo] Kante, who knows him well, try to deny him that space as he comes off the wing."
Dimi doing well against the Dutch up front, but a suicidal pass at the back that almost gifts them a goal shows why Marky is happy for him not to defend
Apparently, it's a calendar year thing, so he makes the cut on account of what he did last season. (I don't know if it includes country as well as club.)

Who knew ;whistle

His bags were packed and ticket to Madrid booked, but Real pulled out.
The nature of being ITK ;whistle
Looked sharp, and got a goal (albeit it was meant as a cross.)
Surprised they didn't take him off and rest him for Monday as they've got a big game vs Holland.
On a seperate note, Pogba was woeful
Are you saying Pogba is NOT worth £90 million?
Who could have possibly seen that coming?
I've been watching out for the complete list. I was all ready to be #angrybear if he didn't make it, considering some of the people who did.
Full list

Only 4 West Ham players have ever been nominated for Ballon d'Or:
- Bobby Moore
- Geoff Hurst
- Martin Peters
- Dimitri Payet
Did we need RB maybe.... ;hmm
30 - Dimitri Payet has created 30 goalscoring chances for his teammates this season, more than any other Premier League player. Artist.
