Great, we need a striker to come in & get goals to keep us up & we sign a 20 year old prospect.
It appears to smack of beggars etc. We may have wanted more established players but they don’t fancy the risk of getting relegated. This deal looks to be one sorted by NES favourite agent. A bit like the ones Mr Sullivan likes to do.
English clubs know how desperate we are and are quoting ridiculous fees. Wolves quoting £40M for their striker, Coventry more than that for theirs. If he’s pacy and knows where the goal is who cares. The goals don’t move and are the same size everywhere but you wouldn’t know it from ours. Defence wise Ake has turned us down because he doesn’t fancy relegation battle and I think this will feature with a lot of players. Some of those already here don’t always seem to fancy it.

To be fair, Wolves did have bids of £50-55m for him in the summer, so, although he's likely to go for less in the coming summer, £40m isn't ridiculous imo.
Can't say there's a lack of fight .Just think there not good enough
This is it Steve, can’t be mad at them, they all tried their best, we just aren’t good enough, average 11 with abysmal substitutes - squad is so weak & shallow
No point crying that Wilson came off, he has to be able to make subs & bring players off, whether that’s after 60, 70 or 80 mins, sadly what he has to offer on his bench is non existent

So you want more depth and cover for Wilson and greater squad depth? And we seem to be getting a "20 year old prospect" whos a striker who is currently got 10 goals in 13 games in one of the "top 5 European leagues".... and you are unhappy?
Who do you think we're going to sign? what striker is coming to us this window who going to hit the ground running? You think we can convince Ivan Toney on £500k a week to join when Liverpool are interested? You think we can spend £50mil on Strand Larson whos not even that good?
I'm no fan of Adama Traore but hes got a lot of experience and has some strong attributes, again he isn't a starter but he helps solve some of those depth issues
We're acting fast, we've gone from our attacking bench options being Summerville and Kante (a midfielder) to Summerville, Pablo and Traore potentially in a few days to start the window
Strand Larsen started 12 EPL matches in a row after missing a couple of matches with an Achilles, he’s only been on the bench for the last two, possibly due to form but possibly cos the Wolves fans have started booing him

For ages you have been wanting the club to sign young prospects the way Brighton do
Analytics United is a very good YouTube channel that do a lot of scouting reports and things. Their most recent video starts off with some analysis of Pablo Felipe.

Champo - I know you are trying to make it seem like I said one thing then something different, just because I want depth doesn’t mean I want anybody - we could sign two Sunday league 40 year olds in that case.
Yes, we need other options but not any random forward. I’ll support him if he comes but I am not seeing this as the end to our long line of failed strikers.

Or a fella with 10 goals in 13 in the top Portuguese division, but yea..thats the same as 40 year Sunday league lads 👍

Yeah, I enjoy their vids too.
I only started watching after you posted one of their videos once. I think they do some work for the club now too - writing analytical scout reports for new signings when they come in.
@Jorderz_Moyes_will_be_Moyes, I really don't have a problem with us signing this type of player. My "beggars" comment was actually saying he probably wasn't at the top of our list of players we should be looking to get but the ones higher up just don't fancy joining a team in the mess we are currently in. No I don't have any evidence that this is the actual situation in case I get any questions of proof!
That would feel quite Kalvin Phillipsy, but I’m not going to turn my nose up at any signings tbh. I think it’s very important we have actual options from the bench, or to rotate our starters, and I could see Traore and Sterling being decent options for six months.

If my memory serves me right. I think Tony Cottee, Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney were younger when they debuted in EPL or the old First Division.
Among the imports, I think Cristiano Ronaldo was younger (18?) when first played for MAN U.
I have never heard of this Pablo before and never seen him play. Maybe Nuno has seen something or maybe WHU are also planning for championship?

Think we should ask if Haaland is available
