A lovely (but painfully accurate quote from Pardew
Quote: Pardew, though, fears that signing two strikers when you have Max Kilman, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Alphonse Areola at the back is like buying a new 4K TV when the ceiling is caving in.
I liked it when Alan Pardew was West Ham manager. Finished top-half of the table, and drew with Liverpool for the FA Cup.
Not so keen when Pardew was manager, we were 18th and we lost to Rotherham in the League Cup with two Argentinian internationals who’d played in the World Cup playing for the reserves against Aldershot
Ex reports Earthy back to Bristol on loan, which seems fair considering Nuno hasn’t been shy about playing youth players. If he’s not ready to play for us while others are then loan minutes are good ahead of next season.
If he goes I am not sure we have anyone else who can give away possession in Midfield in the way he does! Sure we have people who can give the ball away, but not in the creative way he does it.
Joking aside 35-40m we need to take. He does offer a game changing pass here and there that most can't do but they are being sighted less often than they once were, and we really need a centre back.
I heard the Dallas Cowboys have shown an interest as well after his blocking that gave away that penalty.
40m sell him and was there not a defender from Flamengo we were looking at ?
I'd rather we spend the money on a CB who we know we can rely on to do the Craig Dawson stuff. We need a leader at the back. Honestly, I'd try to convince Maguire and go for Charlie Cresswell
Apologies if I am incorrect here but it isn't £40 million it's in Euros which is about 34.7M. Anyway they are saying on SSN Flamengo offer is 30 million euros.
The reality is he is going in the summer, regardless if we stay up. If we do indeed go down, we are unlikely to be able to demand much for him, so if I was the club I’d be tempted to cash in now given how far we are off safety & the fact we look likely to be relegated. This will be the last chance to get any sort of respectable fee. We need to push for around £40m, the offer is too low at the moment.
I think the club like the idea of him rather than the reality of him. The optics of having 'Brazil's #10' is something Sullivan will like, and makes us a bigger draw in some ways. But the reality of what he has offered for the past two years is pretty far away from what you'd imagine 'Brazil's #10' delivering.
This will be the second (or maybe third) window in a row where there’s been talks of a move for him. If he’s not wanting to play then we should let him go and look for someone who can have the impact we’d hoped for from him. It’s tiring trying to keep a player who’s only ever had flashes of good form.
With the same amount of games played in the league but 100 more minutes than Benrahma, he’s got one more goal and 6 fewer assists. There wasn’t too much concern when Benrahma left and I don’t think there should be any more about Paqueta. He’s not the player who’s going to get us out of a relegation battle (he’s basically admitting that himself) and if we’re going down he’s going to be worth less when that happens.
Reports saying we are interested in Eric Dier think its from Ex ,so could have some weight behind it
Monaco want to keep Dier amid West Ham talk Latest from Sky Sports News' Lyall Thomas: Monaco have no plans to sell Eric Dier and he is happy at the club. There have been reports of interest from West Ham but Dier is expected to stay. The ex-Tottenham centre-back signed from Bayern Munich last summer on a free transfer. The 31-year-old has scored twice in nine appearances for Monaco this season.
Palmeiras interested in Brighton defender Julio Latest from Sky Sports News' Chris Reidy:
Palmeiras are exploring the conditions of signing Brighton defender Igor Julio, who is currently on loan at West Ham.
The Brazilian club are interested in a permanent transfer either in January or when Julio returns from his loan spell at the end of the season. Julio is prepared to fight for his place at West Ham if the move doesn’t develop.
The Brazilian has made four Premier League appearances since joining West Ham in the summer and started once.
Julio nearly joined Crystal Palace on Deadline Day in the summer and completed a medical before West Ham came in for him.
I like Paqueta and will always consider his pass that put Bowen through for our Euro final win as important as any moment in our history, Trev's header and Parkes save from the 1980 final etc, but we just don't get a sufficient return on his ability.
In his defence I think he will be much better in a better team, players that keep the ball and seek to break down a defence, and defenders that can mop up any lost possession he may cause through his attempts at high end play.
If he goes for 30-40m I would certainly respect the logic of that deal.

Has a club thats is facing relegation ever sold their joint top scorers?

Even better if it means we can get a CB which we desperately need

I'd happily see the back of him, personally.

Bring back Fornals.
