If the rumours are true about Todibo, his loan needs to be ended immediately.
Why is that? Who is more important to the future of the team J Lo or Todibo. Are you going to say we need to sell Kudus? Would you have not signed Di Canio or Julian Dicks?

The manager is more important than a player, doesn't matter who it is. Or shall we get rid of a manager every time he falls out with a player?
AFAIK, Todibo has met the terms to make it an automatic purchase at the end of the season, unless we get relegated. There's no way whatsoever to send him back unless the worst happens.

In that case, Luke's point is moot and we don't need to discuss it, because we can't send him back. unless there's something else in the loan agreement about gross misconduct or whatever.

But he's fallen out with Todibo, Kudus and Ward-Prowse. Not bad in 5-6 months.
His CV is strong. He’s managed in the PL before with relative success. He’s dealt with big players & personalities.
Our form this season is very poor, but it also was the second half of last season & the whole of the season before, as well as half of the season before that! So in the last 36 months, we’ve had 24 months of poor (league) form. Is this a JL issue or a wider one?
I don’t like the idea of players falling out with a manager. Their job is to perform whilst the manager carries the can. That’s how it works. Players have a win-win. Play well & they’re heroes & do it long enough they get big moves, play badly & they keep getting their pay & stay in a job. The manager knows that 10 poor results leads to a sacking.
I genuinely don’t believe there are many ‘available’ managers out there right now that will turn us around within the busiest period of the PL season. Possibly in the summer for next season, but not now. I think we have a weak core to the team & a poor mentality, probably due to losing games for most of 2024.
Lopetegui obviously believes in hard work, being demanding of yourself & this probably transmits in his personality, which I can imagine is not necessarily the warmest. He is probably quite direct & this will rub certain players up the wrong way; doesn’t mean it’s wrong, though. The players have to get on with it & start to perform & buy into his way. He has success on his CV. He is not a fluke. Lots of these players also never turned up for Moyes & got thrashed 5-0, 6-0, 5-2 as a result on a fairly regular basis. Lopetegui has won a couple of trophies. Most of our squad haven’t.
Todibo, for example, not happy with being called out by Lopetegui. Start playing properly then. Some players are way too protected these days & not open to any criticism. Start working hard, being focused & trying to produce your best football.
We can see that the football is slowly developing, Tuesday was evidence of this, but our weak nature & flimsy defending cost us. Lopetegui didn’t miss 31 attempts. There is an argument that the defence we have is not suited to playing a higher line with attacking full-backs. That is something he’ll need to rectify as we will keep conceding goals if he doesn’t until we sign players in the defence who can play that system.
I do think there are managers out there... Terzic (I would like) Potter Hjulmand Allegri Coneicao Sarri Whether they would come is another matter. But they are available.
What do you mean 'turn our season round'? I'm sure some of them would establish a recognisable pattern of play from which you could improve performances. The fact that there is no discernible improvement shows JLo has little to offer.
West Ham would consider Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick should they sack current manager Julen Lopetegui. (Mirror), external
Former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter is also on West Ham's radar, but may be in line for the manager's job at RB Leipzig, should current head coach Marco Rose get the sack. (Sun)
West Ham considered Massimiliano Allegri as a successor to current boss Julen Lopetegui but the cost involved makes it a probable non-starter. (Football Insider)
If wanting a real gamble we could look at Danny Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday. He is well thought of in terms of potential. He kept them up last season after arriving with them seven points adrift at the bottom of the Championship. He has them mid table at present 6 points off the play offs but he has very little to work with.
He has been assistant manager at Leipzig, Bayern Munich and the German national side before taking his first coaching role at Wednesday. It would be a brave man to take the gamble but you could be getting an up and coming star as he is only 35.
Using Forest as an example as to why things take time.
So Nuno was there last season, didn’t pull up any trees, they struggled for prolonged periods. Was appointed December 2023. They were 17th in the table, 5 points clear of the bottom three.
By end of the season, they were 17th in the table, 6 points clear of the bottom three.
6 of yesterday’s starting 11 (Sels, Murillo, Yates, Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White, Elanga, Wood) played the final game of last season, where they finished 17th. 2 of the 11 on that day were subs yesterday, the other starter is injured long-term (Danilo). Only one player no longer involved in the squad now who started that game.
Forest are now 4th. Nuno has been there just under a year.
I still want to give JL time & don’t see why we can’t give him the season. He’s been in charge for 16 games.

I really don't think he's all that important, when compared to other important things.
Do spill the beans of all your inside knowledge!

I’d give him the season & review in the summer.
