Things are bad, no doubt, but he needs longer than 10 games. He doesn’t need years; Moyes turned us into a top 6 side in a year or so. But he needs longer than 10 matches.
I am only basing it on his CV. This is an experienced & knowledgable coach who has managed big sides but also has recent experience with Wolves, where he had reasonable success (even if they felt it was underwhelming, look where they are now).
The players haven’t got a consistent message from him because I don’t think he yet knows what that message needs to be. He has a squad of players he is still getting to know & trying to get correct combinations from. We have a brand new back four & a new DM. These will take time to come to an understanding. He also hasn’t managed to get the best out of Paqueta, Kudus or Bowen, who carried us for most of our points last season. There has also been poor professionalism from Kudus & Alvarez & Paqueta has had this better case over him which has intensified more than last season.
This reminds me a little of Iraola at Bournemouth. He won 1 of his first 10 games with them. Took a while to come to terms with him & he the players, but eventually settled & now are more than the sum of their parts.

Not the manager we need if we are this stage still 10 games in. As you put his CV shows he should be able to convey this easily. This should be the easiest thing to get across to your players, how you want to play, the tempo you want to set, the tactics/formation you want to employ to achieve it. If he is struggling at this point then he was the wrong manager to employ in the first place and that lies squarely with the board who appointed him.
Lopetegui has had 11 EPL games, 2 league cup games and 4-5 pre-season games. I don't think the team has played well in any of those 17-18 games. OK, maybe he didn't have all the players that he wanted for pre-season games, but that didn't stop him getting his ideas through to players. The team is pedestrian, no fit enough, has no identity, even makes good players (like Bowen) look average and is less entertaining than under Moyes. If we wait until Xmas to change manager, we would be doomed. There won't be enough times for the new manager to turn the team around.
Literally not a part of me thinks he’s getting sacked, and not a part of me is worried about finishing any lower than probably 13th. Next season is where I’ll be expecting much more.

Totally agree with this. We always knew this would be a rebuilding season with the amount of changes.
I’m not expecting us to get much out of our next two games, hope I’m wrong, it is the next three, Leicester, Wolves and Bournemouth. If Lopetegui fails to get a tune out of them by then he will come under intense pressure from the media and fans.

Former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic, ex-Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand, Stuttgart's Sebastian Hoeness and Roger Schmidt, formerly of Bayer Leverkusen and Benfica, are on West Ham's shortlist should they decide to replace Julien Lopetegui. (Mirror)
Clearly too soon to say the corner has actually turned but that performance was different to all others so far this season, even those we also got a result from. We played as a team, more composure on the ball and more players available for the ball when in possession. We also looked like we knew how to close off areas again that previously teams were playing into all to easily.
It is exactly the platform needed to see if we can turn it around as the points move us away from the drop zone and relieve pressure and the performance at a difficult place to win gives confidence, we must not let the opportunity slip now.
I must admit that watching the game on Monday it struck me that if I bumped into him on the street, I would probably give him a cup of tea and a sandwich
Yes, it may be taking longer than we wanted to see good football from West Ham, but we are always reminded by the press that "it's a results game". We currently have 15 points, 4 more than a year ago for the same fixtures. IMO, J-Lo needs to be given a proper chance. Luckily, Sullivan doesn't seem to take his advice from Sky!
West Ham are considering Porto boss Sergio Conceicao as a replacement for Julen Lopetegui, whose future as manager is under increasing pressure. (Guardian)
He left in the summer and hasn’t managed since 🤦♂️
I so hope our owners act sooner rather than later…. Sometimes in life it’s okay to hold your hands up and admit it’s a mistake… I have always thought it’s great to have owners that usually stand “ behind their man “ but I really, really believe a brave decision needs making… Apart from thei Newcastle game ( possibly the Ipswich game) I’m struggling to remember even when we won or got a point that we actually deserved the points which we got ……We were very fortunate in quite a few of them IMO….

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth on X: "Julen Lopetegui’s future as West Ham United manager hanging in the balance. "Club's board are weighing up whether to sack him following the defeats to Arsenal and Leicester. It left West Ham 14th in the table. "It's thought sections of the board have lost faith in Lopetegui."
A few names have already emerged as potential replacements for Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium, should West Ham opt to part ways with the Spaniard. Portuguese manager Sergio Conceicao, who won three top-flight titles while in charge of Porto, has been linked. Former Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic, who took the German club to last season's Champions League final, has also been linked, as has former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter. Reports from Italian outlet Calciomercato have also reported that former AC Milan and Juventus Massimiliano Allegri has also been linked.
So, previously in this situation, I'd be advocating not getting a new manager because - cost of compensation of old manager/coaching staff - (possible) cost of new manager - we blew the budget in the summer on players THIS manager wanted - new manager might want to have a big budget for the next 2 transfer windows to - implement new style, and that could take a while before results start coming
But now we have a Director of Football, these aren't the barriers they used to be.

Spent most of his coaching career in Denmark
Lasted less than a season with Mainz in the Bundesliga 2014/15
Managed Denmark August 2020-July 2024, got to the Euro 2020 semis , group stage World Cup 2022 and round of 16 Euro 2024
Hardly breathtaking…

Writing on the wall IMO
Although, I’d be very happy to be proved wrong ⚒️⚒️⚒️
Julen Lopetegui is facing two make-or-break games at West Ham, who have used the international break to explore potential replacements.

Lopetegui deserves time, the way some of our fans have acted is frankly embarrassing with how negative and dare I say Toxic they've been
Moyes left a old small team, with no form
Lopetegui deserves time

Right?
That's how it works?
