  • Arent we supposed to have brought in a guy with a very good reputation who have extensive kniwledge of decent younger players than Maguire and JWP. Its not my money but I would not pay over 30M for the pair. If those 2 TFs go through, for me, it undermines the new guy. I know I've made it clear I am a Moyes outer but this is not cool with me

James Ward-Prowse close according to Ornstein & Dharmesh.
  • Happy with Ward-Prowse.

So we’ve gone from nobody to possibly Maguire, Maatsen, Alvarez & Ward-Prowse within a week. Just shows how quickly it changes.
  • Maguire (£35m)
    Maatsen (loan)
    Alvarez (£32m)
    Ward-Prowse (£35m)
    Broja (loan)

    £102m

    Rice (£105m)
    Lanzini (free)
    Scamacca (£25m)
    Cresswell (£4m)
    Antonio (£10m)

    £144m

I'd say we've gone from nobody to Alvarez.

    The rest is just noise.
  • + Vlasic £10m

This actually scares me a bit. So much of our sales spent on unknowns. I don’t really want Cresswell or Antonio to go.
  • All over social media that Man City have bid for Paqueta.

    JWP not in squad tonight.

    Would rather Gallagher
  • I think we would be asking another Rice type figure as he is too valuable for us this season. One look at the pass that won us the conference tells you why! no one else has the potential to put people in as he does and none of the midfielders we are being associated with do. We had to wait for him to settle in last season so it would be crazy to let him go now.

It's also not a good move for him. Rice was so good he could get into any team but Paquetta would not be a starter at City in my view.

The craziest deal is this Harry Kane deal, with Bayern supposedly being willing to pay in excess of 90m. It's crazy for them as he will have no re-sale value and will be available on a free in a years time, and it's crazy for him as in years time he chooses where he goes and commands an eye watering signing on fee for saving the new club a transfer fee. He should just say to Spurs that he will see out his contract.
  • If it was a crazy fee I’d be tempted. While he improved, and I’d like to see where further improvement took him, I still don’t think he anything like the form his reputation suggested. So for crazy money, something approaching Rice figures, take the deal.

But it has to be spent on someone who gives the same excitement we expected from him.

Ok maybe don’t take the deal.

This would be multiplying the chaos factor. Maybe Sully let Moyes have all the Rice money but will let Stenden have all the Paqeta money when Moyes is sacked in December...
  • They didnt want to spend a chunk on Rice so I wonder what sort of figure they'll put on him (to be a squad player basically)
  • It‘s a tricky one, if Man City firm up their interest.

He’s only been here a year, we could make a profit on him & he’s hardly been ‘awesome’ since signing. I assume he’d be interested in a movie to the treble winners, managed by Pep. We could do with keeping him on the basis he’s one of our better technical players but after watching Rice badge tap for Arsenal over the last week, players move on fast.
  • Honestly, given the sales already, I wouldn’t sell him for less than we got for Rice. We absolutely don’t need to sell, and he is basically our best and most high profile player now.
  • The ball is in our court unless it gets in his head and throws a strop, not saying he will, but guess money talks.......Should be a fun few weeks, or at least busy time....
Still don't get what has happened to Cresswell, he always seemed such a level headed person not causing any drama to all of a sudden not even training, something just seems odd there....IMO

It all comes down to if they make an offer. He has been here a year so I have no doubt he will jump ship if given the chance.
  • Apparently he changed agencies this summer, players usually do that when after a move
  • Please don’t sell Paqueta. City are a joke, no way they even remotely need him.
  • Just No. I can't fathom why anyone can give their countenance to this.
  • JWP not in squad tonight.

Chelsea only have two first team CMs, even if they eventually sign Caicedo its unlikely they would let Gallagher leave

I suspect we can also forget about Broja if Nkunku is out for a long time

At this rate Chelsea are going to be playing Lukaku!
  • The story doesn’t seem right to me. May be his camp trying to drum up interest.
  • Would certainly be something to sell Rice, Paqueta & Scamacca in one window.

He changed agencies a couple of months ago - it was in the C&H / WHUZone / WHTID style websites, but I'm also fairly sure that there was a rumour he'd had an offer and had asked to leave a week or two ago, and he publicly said it wasn't true? Presumably, if that was the case he would have known that the "offer" was from Man City?
  • Yeah a user on KUMB reported a week ago he’d had an offer & asked Moyes to leave. He was shot down on the forum but seems to be correct.
  • Ornstein is reporting it now. No formal bid but interest & City are ‘exploring’ deal. WHUFC don’t want to sell but suggestion is Paqueta may force move.
