    He is, but he's on the way back. Tbh I think he'd be a good signing for the sitting DM if our medical team are happy to sign off on him given Palhinha is also injured and Alvarez isn't back from holiday after his international games this summer, so none of them are likely to be available till late August or later anyway.

    I do wonder what planet Man Utd are on when they value Maguire at 40M but would rather play others in his position (doubting any of them are valued in that area). As others have said, for any sort of fee (I'm talking nothing over 10M) he's on too much wages and he's not in spring chicken territory either!

    Also you wonder how good and how much Vlasic is valued at when the club who actually want him wont pay 13M for an attacking MF. I'd rather he's given a chance to play. Surely we have enough games for that. Having said that, if his attitude is totally want away (despite maintaining he is training professionally) he must go down as a severe error in the clubs transfer policy (whatever that actually is)

    Newcastle's Kell Watts insisted on delaying his medical ahead of a second loan spell at Wigan - because he was watching Love Island.

    As a timely follow up, he's banned from driving. So someone will have to drive him to a club. Any volunteers? :)

    So two weeks before the season starts.
    We have sold Rice, Lanzini and released Potts on loan.
    We have signed nobody.
    Fair to say we are significantly weaker than last season.

    Going well🤦‍♂️

    Yeah he needs replacing. His wages for the new players. Just a squad player or promote a suitable youngster.

    There is really no debate to have.
    We are leaving it late and seem to keep making low offers, IMO not a great reflection on our club, just seems unorganised and the blind leading the blind, 2 weeks for them to make a difference and get in extra players we really need and sadly would’ve been better to have already bedded them in, all IMO

    Well Dave's excuse has been that they were in Australia so didn't have time to do any dealings. Now they're in France so don't expect anything to happen this weekend.

    We have nearly 5 weeks until the deadline.

    Don’t get me wrong, I would have expected a signing by now, but we have time. They don’t have to be in for Bournemouth. It’s potentially a 60 game season, not 1.

    Good players integrate quickly.

    No but Paqueta was new to the PL, Lingard wasn’t. I would have no worries about players like JWP, McTominay etc integrating quickly & if they don’t that’s their problem. They’re professional footballers.

    It’s why in never get too irate over people we sign or are linked with. Paqueta was universally lauded when we signed him, but he barely did anything for 80% of the season. It happens.

    Sometimes you sign players with high hopes & they fall flat, sometimes you sign players with low hopes & they excel (Lingard, Dawson).

    I also don't think they would have problems but it depends if those players are really what we need and if they are good value for money.
    Seems strange that this new guy has come in and our targets are probably the most obvious Moyes players there are.
    Potentially we could be spending our whole Rice money on JWP Mctominay and Maguire. That seems ludicrous to me.
