Antonio to saudi rumours are back. I dont think we can afford to let him go. As frustrating as his finishing can be (so far so good this season), there is no way we can replace him with the system we play at the moment.
Didn't mind the thought of Anotnio leaving at the start of the season
But 2 goals in the first 3 games, with a few days left of the window....would be a bit of a silly move to let him go now
Plus the fee from Saudi for a 33 year old striker with a year left on his deal wouldn't be more than a couple million
Maybe Moyes sees Bowen/Kudus as our forward options (plus the guy from Brazil IF he joins) but given Michail has started the first 3 games he appears to be Moyes first choice still

At some point we are going to be without him. I think this is our last throw of the dice when it comes to getting in a striker that just has to work. Because I don't think Antonio will be here next season if he isn't sold this season.
West Ham remain in talks with Corinthians over the signing of forward Yuri Alberto. Technical director Tim Steidten is still in Brazil trying to finalise a move. Sky Sports News have been told it is a problematic deal to do – complicated by the number of representatives and intermediaries involved. Alberto wants to make the move.
I guess that's what a scouting system is meant to do at it's best, to find someone that is under the radar. I think only the top clubs can be more lazy and see that the big striker for Dortmund looks good, something everyone was aware of.
I take your concern though and hope it's not some agent punting around a best of video like the old days.
I think it's well worth a punt taking on a South American player from Corinthians with a lot of agents and representatives involved. I mean, what's the worst that could happen!?

From Wiki: Alberto made his senior international debut on 25 March 2023 in a friendly game against Morocco. He replaced Lucas Paquetá in the 85th minute as Brazil lost 2-1 at the Venue Grand Stade de Tanger in Tanger.
Now that we've got Kudus, I'm more on board with Lingard coming in tbh. I wasn't a fan of it, but I am now a lot more comfortable that he'd be a backup at most. Also think it's telling that Kudus took #14 and not #11, because then Lingard gets his #11 back.
There's also suggestions that there's Saudi interest in Fornals as well. Not sure I see that myself, but if he wants it there's the possibility of a fee that makes it worth our while, which seems unlikely should he want a move to a Spanish club (Sevilla supposedly value him at about £8m if he were to be used against a move for En-Nesyri).
We've a year, possibly 2 (there should be an option according to the original article on the OS when he signed, although it's not mentioned on TransferMarket) of him still under his current contract; it's not worth it to let him leave for a low fee as he does provide cover, but he's never nailed down a position.
Left midfield/forward is where he's been used most, but even there Benrahma seems to have replaced him as a starter despite many feeling that's an area we need to upgrade. It feels as though he should be played more centrally, but, certainly in the PL, Moyes doesn't seem to see him there and should a decent offer come in I can see Fornals going and a more physical replacement (McTominay or Sangare maybe) coming in; I think it was suggested that we had no like-for-like replacement for Soucek on the bench when he had to go off on Saturday.
Having signed Kudus (I know he doesn't often play on the left, but if we're playing a more fluid front 3 then I think could be an option there), and with Lingard likely for sign we'll then have cover for Paqueta (not like for like necessarily, but as options in an attacking midfield role, and, with Kudus and Lingard likely coming in then Benrahma is also an option more centrally). So I can see Moyes being willing to let Fornals go if we can bring in a more robust CM, but it's only worth it if he wants to go to Saudi as otherwise I don't think the money we'd get would make it worthwhile for us to let him go.

Inter v Roma 29th October could be an interesting reunion...

He'll at least have someone he knows already.

West Ham United have been approached by a club in the Saudi Pro League about selling Spain midfielder Pablo Fornals.
Surely we should be all... Actually, as you were
Jesse Lingard is set to join West Ham on a free transfer, though the Hammers will first prioritise signing a new striker
It is looking increasingly likely West Ham will offer free agent and former England midfielder Jesse Lingard, 30, a short-term contract
Just need an En Nesry repeat to comlete the set?
