Basically it's dudes in uniforms flying planes. They also play topless beach volleyball. Tom Cruises character has a crisis of confidence after losing someone but comes through it to save the day and becomes the hero. It is a good film though, the first one I'm talking about.
I'd say it helps as they do a good job of making hints to scenes from the old film. If you're into classic cheesy Tom cruise action stuff then you'll enjoy it imo. If you like the first one you'll definitely enjoy it. It definitely hit my nostalgic spot with regards to the music etc. But my 14 year who has only seen bits of the first one also enjoyed it.
I've seen the first one, my girlfriend has not, and we were debating seeing it. I personally was a bit young for Top Gun to be nostalgic to me, but I reckon it would be good to see in a cinema
I’m probably a bit late to the party but I’ve really got into “This is Us” lately.Top top writing, it drew me right in after about halfway through episode one. If you haven’t watched it yet I’d say give it a go, but be warned there are six series with seventeen or eighteen episodes per series, so it’s a real marathon.
I wouldn't have watched any of the Platinum Jubilee stuff but the future Mrs shrugged came over from the USA specially for it (she's a bit of a royal fan, thinks 1776 was a big mistake). We did try to get to Trooping of the Colour but the crowds were insane so we watched a lot of TV
The BBC made a good job of Trooping of the Colour but the Platinum Party on Saturday and Pageant on Sunday were amateurishly embarrassing.
Worst was at the Party: Mica Paris, Ruby Turner and Nicola Roberts sang "Climb Every Mountain" but there was no mention of who was singing and we didn't get a close up of the singers until the last 30 seconds. Maybe the director had nodded off in the control room
On the Pageant Clare Balding and her guest speakers seemed more interested in talking about themselves than what was going along the Mall. They seemed to have only a vague notion of what was what and you'd have thought someone would have given them some notes to work from although Balding got very excited when a load of Land Rovers rolled into view with a detailed description of each one (could be her specialist subject for Mastermind).
I suppose with budget cuts at the BBC this was the best they could do

Oh my days.

We’re on Stranger Things at the minute. I’m toying with starting Arrested Development again
Very impressive piece of film making.
