Bairstow actually was stuck in the 90s for a bit (although it felt as though Root had more of the strike for a bit). Once Root got his ton he accelerated with some wonderful shots including a scoop for 6, and Bairstow gradually edged up towards his ton. Once he made it he hit a couple of quick boundaries as well and it was all done.
Premier League player arrested on suspicion of rape- reportThe player, who was not named for legal reasons, is due to play for his country at the upcoming Qatar World Cup 2022 and was arrested in Barnet on Monday.
I don't think we're the type of forum to encourage speculation on something like that; there are enough strong rumours out there atm that anyone can see who it's likely to be if they want to.
Fortunately the only couple of our players that fit the details released by the police are at our training camp outside Geneva atm.
Just watched the cricket highlights. Incredible chase, but it seemed almost expected in the ground. A measure of how far the team has come in the last few weeks.
And so satisfying after Kohli's antics yesterday, too.

Not just me that really dislikes him then?
After a player was caught at mid off in the first innings, he ran from slip directly at the dismissed player (might have been Stokes) to almost brush him, then ran straight along the wicket to the other batsman before then finally running towards the player who took the catch.
Then yesterday with all his holloring after every wicket. By all means celebrate, but he's completely disrespectful and I'm so glad we won.
Incredible, he must surely go? He's out stayed his welcome with his own side quicker than Jose Mouriniho at the Spuds
Boris has only resigned twice, both times it was to further his ambitions.
First as MP for Henley after being elected Mayor of London and second as Foreign Secretary so he could challenge for the leadership.
Boris has nothing to gain from resigning as Prime Minister and he'll probably stay there until someone has the guts to challenge him for the leadership

Chelsea (A) Sun 4 Sep 2pm (Sky) could be moved if Chelsea playing Champions League Tue 6 Sep
Newcastle United (H) Sun 11 Sep 2pm (Sky)
Everton Sat 17 Sep will be rescheduled when we qualify for the group stages (not if)
Boris to resign according to the BBC but he wants to stay as PM until a new Tory leader is elected in the autumn
That will give Carrie plenty of time to get some men in with a steamer to remove the gold wallpaper
But he doesn't have a functioning government. Surely the Party will have to kick him out now and replace him with an interim PM until the leadership battle is done?

The only way the party can kick him out is for someone to actually challenge his leadership and none of them seem to have the guts to do it.

As Deputy Raab would be the interim PM
I wonder if the 1922 Committee can do something. Just doesn't seem tenable that he can remain for another three months having lost 57 ministers and aides and complete confidence of the House (excluding Mad Nads and the Haunted Victorian Pencil).
I can't find anything in the Constitution of the Conservative Party (January 2021 edition) that would allow the 1922 Committee to do anything other than hold another no confidence vote or organise the election of a new leader.
I don't think they have any rules covering this situation as no one every thought it would happen
