  • Come on let’s face it, the real reason that we’re putting barriers in place is that the people seeking sanctuary are east European.
If in some dystopian future the U S invaded Canada or Germany invaded France we would welcome refugees with open arms.

There is no excuse for us dragging our feet on this it’s just another example of Little Englander racism.

Germany invading France…………well that would never happen would it!!! 🤪
  • I doubt very much that many Ukrainians would want to come to the UK unless they had family here. Most will want to stay closE to their homeland hoping to be able to return especially as their men are still there

So... we should just let them in. There won't be many.

Maybe so but that’s not the point.

Nah, we'd try to keep them out too. The only foreigners welcome in the UK are those who can buy Golden Visas for £2m

Useful stats. 👍 The impression given by the UK press is that the majority want to flood into UK and USA ...

Yet more confirmation (not that it was needed) that a lot of the press is just peddling its own agenda.
  • So Abramovich is selling Chelsea for a cut price 2 billion.
  • Hands down back of sofa time to scramble for change
  • It will be a massive change as he really has been their identity for a long time now. I think for a man who recognises he must be careful regard Putin it was a big statement to say all proceeds would go to war victims in Ukraine.

He may donate to the Russian ones, which will allow him to help and stay in the good books

Welcome to the Kafka-esque world of HMRC.

They adjusted my tax code on 7 February, which resulted in me owing them money. (My previous statement in November said I owed nothing.) They wrote to me on 9 February to inform me about the new bill.

The demand was for the bill to be paid by 31 January 2022, or be subject to interest and late payment penalties.

  • If it wasn't so annoying it would be laughable. If only you could remember where you left your time machine.

MrsGrey, I'm sure a short phone call (involving numerous keypad entries till you're put through to the correct department upon which you will be informed that they are experiencing a high volume of calls just at that moment and suggest you call back later or alternatively use their website) will get you sorted out. But don't hold your breath =)

Or ‘accidentally’ get cut off the phone call…😡

That’s got to have been advice from his PR advisors.

  • It's a hollow gesture.
  • "he must be careful regard Putin it was a big statement to say all proceeds would go to war victims in Ukraine"

The Russian media will spin that to mean Russian soldiers.
  • Moyes must be bigger than I imagined I think Dec is 6 1' so Moyes must be 6 2'-3'. It's always hard to tell from the TV. Apparently Vlad the invader is a real Ronnie Corbett.

It's been confirmed now that he has said 'all victims' and not just Ukrainian.

I didn't get cut off. So I'll call my 42 minutes on hold a win, then.

    That makes little difference imo

Interesting piece about a young Dutch "wunderkid", especially this-
"That night in the Champions League against Liverpool at the Amsterdam Arena [in the first game of last season's group stages] he was given a place in the starting line-up. "

Moyesie, give the kids a go! =)

Narrator: Moyesie did not give the kids a go.
  • Moyes would sign him and then not play him for 3 years hahaha
  • I don't think we have any U23s that made their first team debut aged 16 or their full international debut at 18

Rice didn't make his first team debut until be was 18 and his international debut until he was 19 (and 20 for England)

If we had any kids that were that good I think they'd be playing in the first team already!
