  • Did you break in there is no one there lol
  • I will always remember The Boleyn as packed and loud.
  • A beautiful ornate pub. A proper boozer
  • Did you break in there is no one there lol

If he’s posted them live then maybe that’s a good thing
  • This was around 12:30 Tuesday lunchtime, there were about half a dozen scattered around the pub with another half dozen in the "restaurant" - the bit out the back where the pool tables used to be - and a couple sitting outside.

The only time it was packed was on match days, I used to pop in midweek lunchtimes before we moved and usually I was the only person in there

Will the incoming ambassador have to present his credentials to MrsGrey?

  • Arnautovic scored for Bologna today but they still lost at home to a second tier club in the Coppa Italia.
  • I am super glad that Ravel Morrison is going to get a full season of English football under his belt this year. I really like the guy and it’s about time someone took a punt on him.
  • To be fair, 10 clubs have taken a punt on him since he left Man Utd before Derby did, and 6 of those were English clubs.

I don't think the clubs are Ravel's biggest problem; his attitude and application have been.

That said, hopefully he'll finally be able to settle down somewhere and play, because he is a very gifted footballer.
  • It's a pity that Ravel and Reece Oxford never fulfilled their promise. Adding them to this West Ham side would make the club extremely massive. Sigh.
  • OCS

Maybe, but look at his time at Sheffield United where Chris Wilder spoke really positively about him, his ability, his attitude, but also said he couldn’t disrupt a settled team. For me, the guy clearly needs to feel the love of a manager, of a fanbase, whatever. The fact he’s started every game so far for Derby will, IMO, help him a lot and we’ll see a different player.
  • I wonder if Rooney, in a weird way, would be perfect for him.
  • I think he's lucked in at Derby, given their desperate situation with recruiting players, but hopefully it'll work out for him.

Absolutely nothing against the lad; he's clearly got talent and from what I've heard has learning difficulties which have affected his career.

Genuinely hope he has a good season with Derby and that Rooney gets the best out of him.
  • Personally have no feeling for Ravel Morrison.
Couldn't care a less about him.
    Just IMO tho.
  • I think its a bit early to judge Ravel Morrison's season with Derby, if he's still there by Christmas then perhaps he might have finally got his head together

Reece Oxford seems to be doing okay, 25 appearances with 14 starts for Augsburg last season, not bad for a 22 year old
  • We often read negative press about players and seldom good stuff. My mate at work has a brother who's a gas fitter. He was once working in Gary Cahill's house and had to pop out and get some parts. He bought a birthday card on his way back and asked Cahill if he would sign it , as he was going to the pub that night for his mate's birthday who was a Chelsea nut. Cahill duely signed it. When my mate's brother was leaving Cahill bunged him a "drink" and gave him a signed shirt and said " wish your mate happy birthday from me " Nice touch.
  • Yeah Reece Oxford has been growing up. He can still be a good player. Everything started way too early for him. I’ve wonder if he’d never started at 16 whether he’d be coming through now and be the CB we’re trying to buy. If he hadn’t had all that fuss around him at that age maybe he wouldn’t have been so desperate to start games.

Yeah, it's a real shame that his head seemed to get turned after that game against Arsenal. I didn't realise he's so close in age to Rice (less than a month between them), although Oxford got his first Premier League start in August 2015, and Rice not until August 2017.

He hardly played for the first team after the Arsenal game, spent more time on the bench, playing with the U21s or out on loan.

He seems happy playing and living in Germany, good luck to him
  • Watching the events unfurling in Afghanistan and in particular desperate parents handing over their kids to troops at Kabul airport really puts football in perspective doesn’t it?
    Absolutely heartbreaking.

Fully-jabbed US and EU travellers to be allowed quarantine-free travel to England
Ministers have decided that fully vaccinated travellers from the US and EU will be allowed to enter England without the need for quarantine, the BBC understands.

The Covid operations committee met this morning and full details of the decision will be released mid-afternoon.

So maybe an August visit is still possible?

    👍

Taking a chance, and booked flights. Coming for a month. As long as covid and pinging doesn't scupper the plans.

Will be 1st time seeing family since my dad died at the beginning of the 1st lockdown.

I hope those of you with far flung family can have a chance to get together as well.
    That's great news MrsG.
Here's a poser: I was contacted because someone on my flight tested positive. I was told that if my double Pfizer vaccination was administered in England, I wouldn't have to isolate. I would be free to go out and about, without a mask in indoor areas if I so chose.
If I had my vaccination in Greece, I have to isolate for 10 days.

    Go figure.
  • Simple, Mrs G...bureaucrats aren't paid to think. When the rules are made by idiots, the bureaucracy looks idiotic. I'd replay the last two Hammers matches over and over...time will fly past! =)

That’ll be because we’re British and the rest aren’t, so therefore any so called “ vaccinations” in Johnny Foreigner land obviously won’t count. Thank god we we’re the only country in the world with our own vaccines, can you imagine the carnage if we let any old foreign types in? 😉

  • This regime is running in parallel with the rules on travel which allow double vacced people from amber list countries to enter England under same rules as english-jabbed because the vaccines are the same.

Which makes things even more ridiculous!
