How poorly must Moyes rate Balbuena if Cresswell is played out of position ahead of him.

I don't mind the formation; it actually benefits Fredericks and Masuaku, but I'd have gone with Diop, Rice and Oggy as a back three.

Cresswell played 18 games as part of a back three when Moyes was manager 2016/17 so its not like its a role he's unfamiliar with.

Maybe Moyes decided that regardless of whether he played Cresswell or Masuaku at LB neither of them would be able to handle Willian on their own.

Solution? Play them both at LB and see if that works.

Maybe spending the next four hours on a train will be a blessing...

Creswell played well as the LCB in Moyes’s first spell but I think he’s got a lot worse since then and his basic defending for the second goal last week was awful.

Think he's gone too negative, will be very reliant on Bowen and Antonio taking on multiple defneders to create anything

We have a left sided CB in Ogbonna. Absolutely no reason to play Cresswell in any position, IMO.
