  • Most of the decent transfers have been done.
The likes of Wilson , Fraser , Watkins , Costa were in our price range surely.

We need another striker and good midfield player . As for the defence ???

Do you think West Ham would have offered the going rate for Tarkowski?

£3.86 and a packet of quavers I think
  • So logic would say we still have £31m to get a c/b and a l/b?
  • or sell Rice on last day of window and pay off debt, I wonder who we owe that to

    Ŵest Ham....Logic.....😂.....good one baracks<
  • I'm hearing a lot of talk that we are looking at Rose. I hate that guy.
  • I like Danny Rose, and if we signed him we’d have a much better left back than we do now
  • I think Danny Rose is overrated and clearly Spurs do too otherwise they wouldn't have let him go on loan to Newcastle last season.
  • Nothing to do with his ability (even though I don't think he's great) I just can't stand him.

    Don't get carried away. =)
  • I get the feeling the only transfer West Ham are working on is getting loads of money for Rice from Chelsea. It will probably happen last minute in the window leaving us to find some players with one leg that nobody wants or players out of contract. The owners will say oh we had to let him go and we didn’t have any time left to get players in.
Our club must be the worst at doing transfer business ever.
We haven’t yet realized that offering the right and proper money is the way to getting a good player.
  • But who decides what the 'right and proper money' is?
  • Rumour is we have 3 active bids Tarkowski , and two defenders . I think we will end up with a couple of loans and nothing else . Its going to be a long season again we will probably be bottom 3 by end of October then climb out by Xmas then flirt with relegation all season and finish 16th , throw in a couple of cup defeats against lower league opposition and we are abouth there =)

  • Well at the moment we're 16th and have already beaten a lower league team. So this season is currently an improvement on last year.
  • I doubt if Moyes would agree to selling Rice at the last minute without any time to spend the money, in that situation I wouldn't be at all surprised if he did a "Curbishley" and quit.

While I have a low opinion of S&G I don't believe they are stupid enough to lose one of the few managers prepared to work with them. Who would want to come to a club that had just sold one of its key players with three months before they could strengthen the squad?

glass half full, I like your style
  • Still ZERO justification for the Diangana sale so far. only 2 weeks left of the window.
  • As unpopular and uninspiring as it may seem to some, surely the signing of Rose ticks the only really relevant box that matters - that he’s a significant improvement on Cresswell?
  • I honestly don't think Rose is a significant improvement on Cresswell, unless by improvement we mean give away loads of fouls.

I personally think he would be an improvement on Cresswell. More speed to recover against wingers and to have an impact going forward. Good enough defensively. I don't know if people dislike him because of that Tottenham documentary but I don't think he's that bad. Didn't he do ok at Newcastle last season?

I'd rather we buy a proper solution to our LB problem though.
  • Also agree he's an improvement on what we have...wheteher he's a nice guy/ who he plays for....
Not saying I'd be over the moon, but time is sort of getting the better of us...
  • I thought Moyes wanted young hungry players
  • linked with Joao Mario return can't remember if he plays on the left or not . Rather sign defenders first or anyone would be a good start =)

That ship has clearly long since sailed.
  • Well by the time Sully pulls his finger out, they'd be starving hungry players.

I've not seen the Tottenham documentary so I have no idea, my opinion is based on watching him play and he's not impressed me at all. I don't much care who he plays for, he could be at Villa, Watford or Accrington Stanley and I'd still not be keen on him

He was okay at Newcastle although obviously not good enough for Bruce to consider making the move permanent.

if he does come here I will try to suspend my cynicism for at least six matches, who knows he may prove me wrong.
  • I think Carlton Cole is s till available!

Yeah I wasn't referring to you about liking him, or even anyone necessarily on here. I just see a lot of people mentioning his personality these days and wonder if it's linked to Amazon playing up the tension with Mourinho.

I don't think he's a great signing. He's the same age as Cresswell and I don't think a loan is good enough, especially when we rushed through the Diangana sale. But if we aren't doing any other business in that position, I think he'd be a bit of an improvement.

I think a 5 at the back with Masuaku is our best option with current players (unless we go with a back 4 with Masuaku played as a winger, which I'm happy to see) but Cresswell can't play that position. If we end up settling on that formation, Rose would be more capable of playing in both a 4 or 5.

I've not seen it either. I just don't like him. If he was a football team he'd be Palace.

I certainly noticed a lot more dislike for him in social media after he started being vocal about mental health and stuff. He seems to be tarnished with an attitude of not caring, whereas that is the opposite to how I personally view him.
