The Next Transfer Window

  • Rumours that QPR have rejected a £12m offer from Palace for Eze.
  • Anderson pictured in Rome, some reporting its just a holiday while some are saying that there is a chance hes negotiating a move back to Lazio (at a fraction of the price)

Perhaps if that move does come to fruition then we will have the funds to move for Eze
  • Find it odd that people are excited at the thought of selling a full Brazilian international for the prospect of signing a youngster who has no proven pedigree at all.
According to a hammers source we might still owe about £20M for Anderson and so would probably get nothing at all if he returns to Lazio.
  • Think its because of how the club has gone about its business the last few years and how some of these big transfers have turned out

Even when they are successful, they have pulled a strop and forced a move (where we only make a fraction of the fee we would've) e.g. Arnie and Payet

For me, I saw a player who had talent but who's body language and performance was of one who couldn't be bothered

He wasnt the type of player to take the game by the scruff of the neck or play a blinder when everyone else is having a shocker....

Honestly for the entirety of this season (and parts of last season) he was a complete passenger and we may as well be playing with 10 men and he didnt seem to try anything to stop the rut himself

Eze may be a flop, but if he gives us what Bowen has offered us (everything Anderson doesn't) then it's worth the risk (plus lower wages and future sell on potential)

Cant afford to keep a player just incase they come good when we are depsrate for money and there is little evidence to suggest he will indeed come good
  • Thorn - he’s not done anything since Jan 2019.

Whilst you have a player tearing it up in the lower league.
  • Luke nobody did anything in 2019 and only started doing anything after lockdown. Strange season all round to be making any comparisons.
  • My biggest worry is the “sell to buy” policy because we are in danger of selling then not being able to buy who we want and ending up with panic buying.

Sell to buy doesn't mean you have to complete all your selling before you sign anyone new. It's more to do with describing the limitations on the budget, imo.
  • Do we know for sure we have to sell to buy, or is that just what some people are thinking and saying?
  • Do we know for sure we have to sell to buy, or is that just what some people are thinking and saying?

Rumour, but most of the ITKs like C&H and Ex to name a few have confirmed it

So while we may not have zero budget it probably is going to be dependant on sales, which would make sense given the clubs financial status, the money spent the last few years and the COVID pandemic

    This one isn’t my favourite

I wish I could post a breakdancing gif right now
  • Most clubs if they have a full squad need to sell if they buy or leave players out but still pay them.
  • EZE BID NUMBERS REVEALED

We bought you the news last night that Crystal Palace have had a bid in excess of £12m rejected by QPR for Eberechi Eze.

The breakdown of the offer was £8m plus £4m in add-ons, but QPR value Eze at closer to £20m.
  • There is no way Palace are going to offer £20m having just offered £8m.

£12m, plus Hugill, with a couple of add-ons if he hits certain performance related goals.
  • The fees being discussed here are quite promising for a young player doing well in the Championship. If we sell Lanzini, it could be a good bit of business to bring someone eager for someone who seems to have lost all his confidence and might need the move now.
  • On the presumption that Hugil is out of favour and QPR are possibly the only ones interested, then there appears a deal to be done. May well be worth a punt.
  • In a perfect world would rather sell Anderson ,then Lanzini ,To get the funds for Eze ,Still kind of think Lanzini wants to prove something after that injure ,But Anderson just seems so uninterested

Both have to go, IMO. Neither has offered anything of any real note this season.

But if I had to choose to only get rid of one, it would be Lanzini. He's under-performed for a few seasons now; he doesn't score or create goals anywhere near enough for a PL No10, so if we can get £10m for him and that plus Hugill gets Eze over the line, then it's win-win as far as I'm concerned.

Sadly, such is their form, I don't think there'll be queues of clubs beating down our doors for either of them, and with both on big, big money, I can see neither pushing too hard to leave.
  • If they are both under performing and one has to go. For me it's obvious it should be the one that we would get most money for.
  • I suspect we'd get more from Anderson but we might be taking a heavy loss in selling him, whereas if we can get him into at least average form, we might be able to sell him at a better price in January or next summer. Anderson's been underwhelming but still involved a lot in creating chances (often the pass before the assist) until around the new year. Lanzini's been really off for a long time. We can probably sell him for a decent price that isn't a big loss on a recent investment.

But if there was a player I wanted to see improve and stay with us, it's Lanzini. It would be nice if the summer could see him return to his form under Moyes last time.

West Ham face losing out on attacking targets as David Moyes has very limited funds & has already decided defensive areas are of greater priority.

I mean, losing out on a Championship player to Crystal Palace is something we could've achieved at Upton Park.

I really don't want to be this cynical before the new season has even started, but it does frustrate me that we're pleading poverty whilst being the 18th richest club in the world.

Mundo Deportivo report that West Ham are ‘in advanced negotiations’ with Barcelona to sign Danish striker Martin Braithwaite for £18m. He's only been at Barcelona since February, 11 apps, I goal, brought in as emergency cover when Luis Suarez got injured but now he's surplus to requirements

    Everton are also interested.

He was at Middlesbrough a couple of seasons ago, played half a season in the Championship then went on loan to Bordeaux. Doesn't sound promising...
  • He's 29 which doesn't meet the apparent criteria for players we are looking for.
  • Would be surprised if we are

As IH said it doesnt seem to be the type of player we are after and where are we going to get the £18mil to fund it

Just looked on whoscored he seems very underwhelming, pretty poor at Middlesborough and very average for Leganes

Would be a very strange move
  • no way we are paying 18m for anyone this window.
  • Chelsea rumours, a third of their squad for sale....Pulisic on a free please!!!
