A thick bundle of envelopes would be an upgrade on Sanchez

I left the door open and was wondering who’d step through it
  • Cancel all the excitement about the envelopes, what Moyes said was we will NOT be bringing in a bundle of players.

I thought that quote on the Beeb looked odd.

I see they've corrected it now.
  • Oops damned text...I should have read it before posting! :yercoat:

Too late. Excitement has arrived and has brought a bottle of Merlot and a four-pack of White Lightning. We've opened the Pringles and everything.

So what's not a bundle of players? :hmm:

An injured Darren Randolph and Joe Allen on deadline day
  • Fernandes / Allen / Randolph ?

If that happens some players would have to leave surely.
  • From premier league site ( * are HG)

    Ajeti, Albian
    Antonio, Michail Gregory*
    Balbuena Gonzalez, Fabian Cornelio
    Cresswell, Aaron*
    Diop, Issa Laye Lucas Jean
    Fabianski, Lukasz
    Fornals Malla, Pablo
    Fredericks, Ryan*
    Haller, Sebastien Romain Teddy
    Jimenez Gago, Roberto
    Lanzini, Manuel
    Martin, David Edward*
    Masuaku Kawela, Fuka-Arthur
Nascimento Da Costa E Silva, Xande
    Noble, Mark James*
    Ogbonna, Obinze Angelo
    Pereira Gomes, Felipe Anderson
    Reid, Winston Wiremu
    Sanchez Moreno, Carlos Alberto
    Snodgrass, Robert
    Wilshere, Jack Andrew*
    Yarmolenko, Andrii
    Zabaleta Girod, Pablo Javier

I count 23, 6 of which are HG so weve used up our non-HG quota

Randolph I assume is HG, so he can come in fine

Fernandes is U21 so again wont need registering

Of that list, I'd expect Roberto to leave (we dont need 4 GKs) and I'd imagine Xande will likely be cut islf
  • Interesting. So Gabigol and Berge couldn't come unless we bin off two of our current foreign contingent?
  • Gedson Fernandes is one name we’re talking about. He’s a young player with potential, probably more for the future.

I'd not expect to see him playing for the 1st team this season.

From his comments I agree that's what it sounds like....but seems odd Benfica would choose us over Chelsea if we also don't intend to play him much
  • a player who had a 33m option to buy attached after 18 months not playing in the first team ?

The last thing we need to do is waste our time on getting in a cm that can play in the first team. Not like we are desperate or anything
  • We will sign him, stick him in the U23 and after 12 months, Luton will unveil him as a new permanent signing
  • Oxford have signed Browne on loan from Middlesbrough till the end of the season
  • West Ham want to sign Marouane Fellaini this transfer window, according to Sky Sports.
  • :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: ……….. :weep: ……….
  • I think sometimes, realistically the club will need to consider a selling a player to re-invest and move forwards. We did it before I think when we sold Dicks to Liverpool (obviously on a smaller scale in terms of monies). Even Baz’s other team did it with Coutinho. But I wouldn’t consider doing it unless we know exactly how we will re-invest

Coutinho was sold for a hell of a lot of money. He was a great player for Liverpool but the decisive factors were that he wanted the TF to Barcelona and Liverpool successfully held out for an over the odds fee.

We are very much a team that doesn't seem to be able to get even fair value for a lot of our players whilst other teams are very skilled and milking as much out of a TF fee as possible (Levy is a great example).

Alongside the majority of postings here, I would be happy for Diop to stay but to get 50M for a guy we paid 22M for not so long ago (who isn't essential to the team) represents an unlike West Ham profit.

We could buy 10 Balbeunas for that! One of of them might actually turn out good (ta da!)

Ex is pretty much spot on with most things West Ham. So I'd imagine Diops not even going anywhere until at least the summer...
  • Fellaini hell NO I really hope this is lazy journalism at its best
  • Beat me to it. I was just typing 'the dreaded 'F' word appears on site.... Felliani!

Do I think he'll come :hmm: No

I just wanted to type the dreaded F word comment
  • Fellaini would be a fantastic signing
  • Where would he play. His strike rate in the PL is about 1 goal every 9 games so not as a striker so where exactly.

    For someone else
  • I agree that every player has a price and 50m for Diop would constitute good business even though I would prefer to keep him. I think for that price we could likely replace him and have 20-30m left over for an extra player.

Not until the summer however. Were we sat on 30points at present then perhaps cash in but we could not afford an injury without him and relegation would be a catastrophe.

  • He's 32 and on 200K a week. I know he will have to accept a 75% cut if he stays beyond current contract but that doesnt end for a while. So has he got any real incentive to move?

If that answer is actually yes, how much TF fee? Wages? I just cant see it
  • Fellaini would be a fantastic signing

    He wouldn’t though
