    Birmingham sacked Gary Rowett when they were 6th in the league last season. Since then, they have played 67 games, won 14, drawn 15 and lost 38. Win % of 20.9%. They sacked him to bring in a 'name' and Zola had a win % of 8.3% (2 from 24 games).

    Rowett on the other hand has a 44.7% win ratio with Derby County (21 from 47). Derby are 5th on 60 points. Birmingham are 22nd on 30 points.

    Safe to say they got that one wrong.

    And to be fair living in derby fans who come in our pub don’t rate his style of play and are moaning again about how things go wrong Feb/ March every season but as you say got a good win % with them

    I'm more concerned because they may nick a promising manager that we could use next season after Moyes walks away.

    Well they have choice a of Silva, Bilic or Koeman. Sure they’ll get the right one and stay up.

    According to some people, hiring an out of work manager would make them cheap, and it’s easy to just get someone in work if they really wanted to.

    I think the point being made was that an out of work manager doesn’t make a poor appointment; an out of work manager, on a 6 month deal, with nothing but a recent record of failure on his CV, possibly does.

    If you sack a manager and bring in another, pretty much the main criteria needs to be that the new person is better than the previous.

    IMO silva is definitely better than Pellegrino
