Should Bilic be sacked at a future date than the great Julian will become manager, even if only on a temporary basis as all the foreign coaching staff would almost certainly leave with Slaven.
Just doesn't strike me as a 'progressive' type of coach really. Although as his title is 'Coaching Assistant' he may be little more than a bibs and cones man. We shall see. I wish him well of course.
Cheers Cuz, my only issue is that this has been put out in the public realm. The owners and Bilic already knew all of it. It wouldn't have been news to any of them so what purpose does it serve?

Fair enough mate ;ok
Personally I can't see past the love in right now.
The youngsters and reserve players go out with Terry Westley (and a couple of other coaches) to Ireland for a week. Bilic pops out for a couple of days (with his new backroom staff) to watch them before the squad fly home. This squad, through no choice, is going to be the squad that takes on Lusitans, with Randolph, Tomkins, O'Brien, Amalfitano, Jarvis and Sakho the only senior players.
That squad are now back in the UK preparing for Thursday, but Slav is still out in Ireland, being joined by the rest of the first team (Adrian, Reid, Ginge, Hendrie, Noble, Obiang, Downing etc the ones pictured). I assume they will do a week too, then all fly back ready for next week.
So how can Slav take charge of the Europa League game? Is Westley likely to take charge whilst Slav sits in the stands?
Westley will be in the dugout on Thursday but Bilic will fly back to London to watch on as his team begin their European adventure at the Boleyn Ground.
I read that and still couldn't work out if Slav will be in the dugout or not.
He will be with the team and in the dressing room and a big part of what we’re trying to do on Thursday.
I interpret it to mean Westley is 'acting manager' for this game (will pick the team, be pitchside, decide subs etc) while Slav will be like we often see 'new' managers before they take over properly - in the stands/with the owners, then popping down to the dressing room at half time, kind of thing.
To be honest, I'd much prefer them to be concentrating on the start of the season proper... But tomorrows game is now a sell out so Bilic really should be on the bench with Westley and Dicks.
It's not ideal, but there aren't many alternatives.
He was not appointed until the 9th of June. His backroom team was only in place the end of last week. He and his team had to await work permits before starting.
Westley knows all of the U21 players, as he works with them on a weekly basis. It made sense for him to take them. So then do you let Bilic take over once he is ready to work or say "you've started the pre-season with them, so you prepare for the first leg and I'll get more involved after"?
It's not ideal, but as we all know this Europa League stuff isn't ideal. You just get on with it.
I would personally like Bilic to be involved in the dressing room and stood on the sidelines with Westley, but allowing Westey to take centre stage.

Let's get PDC in to hand the water bottles out and we've got an immediate hat-trick right now.
;hmm not sure what to make of that? Seems very negative?
He's having a senior moment ;whome
We'll reward you if you excel.
If we go down, it's your fault. So we'll insert a relegation clause.
You weren't our first choice.
Good luck ;ok

Opens gob just to change feet...

I think the Spurs are getting quite worried hence why the article is on a Spurs site, and DS says we want to challenge Arsenal and Chelsea.... ;lol
I like MrB attitude to being 2nd choice, just the hunger I want to see in a manager.
Don't think The Beard will have too much of a problem not being first choice, as long as he comes out being the "best" choice in the long run.
Love the fact if we completely mess up he gets nothing, just the way it should be imo....(I don't think he will)
8th is probably about right, but I think if we invest another 20-30m then Sully will be secretly hoping it's a place or two higher.

I would think just as many bought tickets to see SB's expected first home game as they did to see European footie.
Hope he's there......or we may see a very early "cupping of the beard"
;hmm

We have a different team (youth) and guy in charge (Westley) for the Europa games?
Bilic is more an 'overseer'...
;hmm
