  • I don’t think anyone better than Nuno will be willing to manage us in the Championship and given the boards record on selecting managers I’m going to be seriously worried if Nuno leaves
  • I think he should stay - next season is inevitably going to be one of significant enforced change and I think it makes sense to have someone in charge from the beginning to end
  • I actually think, like many players, he will see himself above the Championship and leave anyhow.
  • I'm not convinced, I don't know who could replace him, but that doesn't mean he should remain.
I hate keep changing managers/coaches, but if the shoe doesn't fit etc etc....
If he stays, I'll of course support him, but at the end of the day, IMO he had long enough to change our fortunes and his first 10-15 games were horrendous, and that team selection at Newcastle, that was a shocker at the complete wrong time of the season to do it.....

This is a real opportunity to actually create an identity - not a short term fix, a manager who embodies our values as a club, builds a young, progressive squad & we can create a club to be proud of. I am slightly tired of the quick fix appointments that require us playing with 30% possession & sitting deep, which we don’t do very well anyway. Lop was chaotic, Potter was boring (style) & Moyes & Nuno are cut from the shame cloth. We need to get this one right.

Nuno - tried his best but ultimately he wasn’t good enough, several points lost when in a winning position.

I can understand those not wanting to change again, but this is a slither of opportunity I want us to take & create a version of West Ham that we all want to see.

I'd guess that will depend on which manager is available on a free
  • We all want to see a better West Ham but frankly I don't see "a slither of opportunity"

I have absolutely no faith in Sullivan's ability to sign managers, his record is appalling. Apart from Allardyce and Moyes none of them have lasted to the end of their contract so whoever he signed most likely wouldn't last a season, a season and a half at best

And it would be Sullivan with maybe some input from Kretinsky who doesn't seem to have had much influence over the last four and a half years. Brady has gone, we have no director of football and apart from the coaching staff there are no actual "football" people working for the club

There might possibly be a better manager than Nuno who would be willing to rebuild a newly relegated club suffering financial problems but Sullivan isn't going to find them

I don’t like Sullivan, but I think his decision making is over exaggerated - we’ve played in Europe for several seasons under him, won silverware & been in the PL for 14 years straight, despite many calling him the leagues worse owner. We also play in one of the biggest stadiums in England (I know it has its issues).

For every Pellegrini there is an Allardyce. Bilic was a decent appointment, Moyes (twice). It’s basically 50-50 - is that any better/worse than most clubs?
  • I imagine Eddie Howe / Thomas Frank maybe will be in the picture (assuming Howe gets sacked)
  • Moyes has been the only successful manager of the Sullivan era although from what I've heard he was more David Gold's choice (Sullivan always wanted Benitez but could never get him).

BFS got us promoted and kept us up but not much more than that. Bilic was good for one season, mediocre for another then completely lost the plot. Grant, Pellegrini, Lopetegui and Potter were all failed experiments.

Playing in one of the biggest stadiums in England hasn't made us successful. Charlton and Cardiff City had big stadiums, it didn't help them much either

I imagine Eddie Howe / Thomas Frank maybe will be in the picture (assuming Howe gets sacked)

Frank has been linked with Celtic

Much if not all of our success was linked to the emergence of Rice, a generational talent; that had nothing at all to do with Sullivan.

Aslef, you're forgetting "Mr. West Ham", our very own Mark Noble, who is still at the club as far as I can find out.
  • Noble doesn't hire 1st team managers / coaches.
  • Sky reporting he could be off after a crisis meeting today

Think it's a mistake if we wanted to come straight back up
  • We can’t hang around, we need the correct manager in place quickly to begin planning for the rebuild.

Have zero faith in our board to get the "correct manager" hence the problem

"Appoint the right manager" was point no.1 in the 10 Point Pledge

And we're still looking 16 years later
  • Is there such thing? Look at all professional football clubs & what’s the average tenure of a manager? We need the most appropriate manager for next season & then we review in the summer.

Oddly Noble isn't listed anywhere on the WHUFC website

Probably not but its what S&G said so either they believed it or they were feeding us nonsense

Times, Sun and Guardian all reporting Nuno will leave

Sun and Talksport mentions Parker while Guardian adds Gary O'Neil to the list

He replaced Leroy Rosenior at Strasbourg in January. They finished 8th, got to the semis of the Coupe and the Conference League

Did anyone else know that Marc Keller is President of Strasbourg? He's been with the club for 25 years

    Who said he does?
  • IF Nuno goes, and I really don’t want him to, a curved ball suggestion if I may,……..Craig Bellamy.
  • Not such a curved ball as he has gained respect as a manager through his connection with Kompany at Anderlecht and Burnley and now Wales. I would never have thought him to have the temperament for coaching but he seems to be making a good impression wherever he goes. Parker is a safer bet but Bellamy wouldn't surprise many or disappoint too many I feel.
  • Bellamy is also gets West Ham as he has said previously he understands our fans expectations.
  • I like Bellamy he has passion ,If Nuno does go I would like someone with passion who jumps up and down yells at the ref and kicks a water bottle every so often

Bellamy has already been linked with Burnley (he was Kompany's no.2) and Celtic (he played there for half a season) but Wales are "very confident" he will stay until the end of his contract in 2028.

Wales Online reports that there is a £700k release clause

    Like Arteta...
  • Nooooooooooo
  • From Jacob Steinberg at the Guardian

"A source said that Daniel Kretinsky, the Czech billionaire and the club’s second-largest shareholder, wants Nuno to stay. David Sullivan, the largest shareholder, is said to be less sure

Kretinsky has a deal lined up to increase his stake and match Sullivan’s control of the club. The co-owners are each poised to buy a portion of the Gold family’s 25.1% stake, which would leave them sharing power in the boardroom. It is thought relegation will affect the value of the deal."

"One source said there was a 50-50 chance of Sullivan deciding to sell up after relegation. But the 77-year-old’s involvement in talks with Nuno suggests he intends to stay."

    https://www.theguardian.com/football/2026/may/26/west-ham-board-split-nuno-future-kretinsky-manager

  • Reports that Nuno could now stay, due to Kretinsky wanting him to remain. Tbf, whilst I would like a restart from scratch, if Nuno has the option to walk away but has stated he wants to bring us back up, fair play to him.
  • I actually would rather Nuno stay. He now knows what he has and can build around those who decide to stay
