Isn't it the coaches on the training pitch who communicate to the players what the manager wants? The lack of effort that we saw yesterday can't be blamed on a lack of communication. The players are obliged to fulfill their contracts that are with the club, not the manager. What we saw yesterday were a number of players failing in that obligation. Only IMO of course.
Good list candbsky. Who allowed three of those defenders to leave last summer & didn't sign us a striker? He also allowed Alvarez to go out on loan, a player who I would expect to be able to rattle a few of our players into putting more effort in than they did yesterday.
buffy, I agree AWB gives us more than Coufal but is the latter a better defender than KWP - Yes. Is Diouf more adapt at defending than Emerson - No. Even Aguerd would help more defensively than Kilman. Only hope that NES gets the players he needs to repair the damage left by the previous managers including you know who is guilty of letting the squad age increase without addressing it.
Moyes said in an interview that he was offered a new contract after we beat Arsenal 28th December 2023 but didn’t sign because it was a “poor” contract.
Sullivan withdrew the contract mid February after we lost three games in a row and it was agreed they would wait until the end of the season
At the end of the season Moyes was told he wouldn’t be getting a new contract and they announced they had hired Lopetegui the same day they announced Moyes was leaving
Moyes has never said he didn’t want to be here but has never specified what exactly he didn’t like about the contract
I seem to remember reading somewhere that Nuno can’t bring in any coaching staff as under the financial sustainability thingy we’ve spent too much first paying off Lopetegui and his coaching staff then paying off Potter and his coaching staff
Presumably if we sacked Nuno whoever took over would also have Steve Potts and the U21 coaches

Either that or they’d decide to just roll the dice on PSR / FFP and gamble on staying up. I thought I read in the summer that money was tight but we’re seemingly happy to throw it around now to try and stay up.
I hope he continues with Scarles, absolutely going to be our starting LB in the champo next season.
I hope he finds some game time for Earthy I really do think he can be a starter for us in the champo too.
I would also look at cancelling the Casey loan at Swansea and bringing him back to put in the defence.
I am actually more excited to see these youngsters in the championship when it goes down than the last 2 years of garbage football. I really do think with a proper clearout and that FA Cup youth winning team gets on the pitch for us next season will be the beginning of a resurgence for the club.
The only thing with Casey is that he can't get in the Swansea team. I like the idea of him coming in to solve problems, but he's not doing much in the Championship at the moment.
The current CB options have not kept a cleansheet for near enough the entire season. Realistically how many of our current CBs are going to be with us when we go down ? I would argue now is the perfect time to get Casey the minutes or at least try him out. The PL experience over the next 5 months will be invaluable for a number of youngsters for next seasons championship push.
Its a negative mindset but I think the club / manager need to accept this team is 100% going down, their is no miracle that will occur. We have to prepare for next season in the league below, Wolves are doing it with a few of their youngsters showcasing it against us the other day. We blew our 4 chances to get out of it. Its time to look forward.
I’m worried that if we go down we won’t see any more of our youngsters than we do now. Hopefully at least Potts and Scarles will be established by then but I can very much see whatever manager in charge instead choosing experience because of the pressure to guarantee promotion quickly.

I think the point I'm making is basically, if he's not good enough to get into the Swansea team is he the person to invest that time in?
Trouble about playing our young players untill the end of the season .Getting them ready for the championship is that it could knock there confirdence ,Getting beat by 2 or 3 goals every game wont do them much good .However of course it could make them better players ,Its a thin line
Sky report we will be sticking with him for now. He’s incredibly lucky. I actually think a new manager to watch against QPR & then give us a boost in a derby against out of form Spurs may be exactly what we need.

I've just been informed he's been appointed President of Venezuela until the end of the season.

Otherwise I think I agree.
