  • Well he's been sporting the cast for a couple weeks now....and it seems every game he ends up landing on it....which can't be good for it

Pressure is off now we got 42 points and Nordtveit is a ready made replacement not to mention Fernandes who Bilic rates highly

He's a miss but with 2 games to go it's a miss we can deal with
  • I think kouyate is arguably our most important player. Get him ready for next season.
  • It is rather odd that a large number of players do strap their wrists but I guess they are falling to ground alot so the wrist becomes susceptible I guess. ;hmm
  • I actually thought it was a superstitious/aesthetic thing. They had it once for an injury but then kept using it for whatever reason. I feel like that kind of bandaging can't offer that much protection in protecting against an injury...

I was a bit concerned when he slipped up over the carpet near the mic, behind the goal line.

  • OL: I get concerned whenever Koyate falls over, he's all arms & legs, like a medical skeleton being knocked over ;nonono
  • Yep, he's basically a running Jenga tower
  • Kouyate had his operation today and in plaster for 8 weeks. Antonio is in rehab. Sakho is out for the rest of the season and Carroll is continuing with his rehabilitation after suffering a significant adductor strain.

No mention of Reid being injured. ;hmm
  • Antonio in rehab, have I missed something! ;nonono ;biggrin
  • Apparently he said...No No No!
  • ;lol excellent

Just reading through the Treatment Room article on the OS. These two bits jumped out at me:

    On Reid -

"The New Zealand skipper had an operation this week to rectify a rare and chronic knee condition that has seen him play through the pain barrier for the past few weeks"

    On Noble -

"The injury was of a nature that we have not seen before, but this is something we have become used to with Nobes throughout his career!"

When you consider we once lost Carroll for months with what was essentially a ballerinas injury, you can understand why people think we're cursed with unusual injuries ;lol
  • And with Carroll, didn't the ballet injury happen tu-tu times

    ;biggrin
  • ;tumbleweed
  • Notice how there was no update on Carroll?

  • Knackers yard.
  • Speaking of injuries, our head physio has left the club.

New signing, of sorts. Let's hope he can keep the number of players in the treatment room down...
  • We had a physio ;nonono

I thought we should have sacked him when we found out Noble had a hernia that apparently no one knew about and the fact he allowed players to play with injuries e.g. AC's groin.

Lets hope Gary Lewin will use his experience to say no to allowing players to play when not fit.

I see this as good news.
  • Iron herb let's hope we don't get as many injuries from now on as I've often said our medical staff seemed unable to keep players fit
Having said that, if Lewin does say no to unfit players playing and we continue as before we could be putting out some bizarre teams next season.
  • The kids might get a chance ,,, ;run
  • Hard to say for me if the news is good/bad/no difference as we know not the workings of vdbroucke behind the scenes. However I do agree with others here that we seem to accrue more injuries than other sides and while I used to believe the old training ground was the issue, that can no longer be (if it was ever) the reason! Hoping for a far less injury ravaged upcoming season than last - show us your stuff Lewin!
  • did he hurt himself when he slamed the door on the way out ;biggrin

He broke his leg at an England game. Probably be on the treatment table with Carroll and Sakho Day 1.
Also ex-Arsenal physio....we know how well they have done with injuries
  • Four managers worked with Stijn, so I feel like he can't have been that bad at his job, even though we have had loads of injuries. Sam was known for his attention to those kinds of details, so don't think he would have brought back someone he didn't think was good. Anyway, hope Lewin is better and can get some of our key injury-prone players playing more.
