  • If 'ITKs' are given the benefit if the doubt, with the excuse that 'things might change between their first statement and what actually ends up being the case', why isn't anyone else?
  • From Kaveh Solhekol:

D27P trained with the u23's today
    Trained on his own yest
  • He's working his way back!

Tomorrow: trains with the first team
Friday: carried around on a plinth by the rest of the team
    Saturday: becomes manager
    Sunday: rests

And what has Craig David got to do with this?

    He's walking away
  • ;lol ;clap ;bowdown
  • Chilled on Sunday ;quaver
  • Marseille does have lovely beaches

Maybe DP is thinking about early retirement

    and who can blame

    ;beer

    lololol
  • They can have him for 50mil.
  • I'll even sort out the shipping crate myself.
  • Oh the ignominy. Not only banished to the reserves, but he has to train with Captain Fantastic too...

  • The first freight train on the new link between China and Barking arrived today so it wouldn't cost too much to box him up and send him there.

  • We're gonna box him up
    We're gonna ship him out
    Ain't nothing about Dimi
    That we care about.

    I said 1 - 2 - 3 ship your Dimi out

    I said 1 - 2 - 3 ship your Dimi out, yeah
  • ;wahoo ;handbag ;wahoo
  • I wonder if Marseille thougt they could tap him up get him to kick up a fuss and have their player at a price of their choosing, and now we are saying no and expecting a reasonable sum they recognise you cant really pay 30m for a 30 year old. Poor Dimi's tail will be between his legs.

    Sully stand your ground!

The Sun - yes I know - are reporting we would settle for £25m from Marseille.

I'd be incredibly disappointed if we sell him for that amount.

Anything less than £30m should be laughed off just how Hull laughed off our £3m Snodgrass offer.
  • I can't see anybody paying £30 million for Payet.

One very good season after ten years of nobody ever having heard of him, then the next season turns into a lazy, strop-throwing liability and refuses to play for his club only a few months into a huge long-term contract (for whatever reason).

Who pays £30 million for that?
  • Considering Bolasie and Sissoko both cost 30 million... Payet is on a different planet

    I know.

So how about Marseille pay £25m and Payet pays £5m-£10m. Done and done. ;ok
  • Maybe. But what about the fact he's had one amazing season in ten or twelve?

    What about his age?

    What about his attitude?

I'm not so sure he's worth as much as he hoped he would be when this kicked off.

But I guess we'll find out as the window goes on ;hmm
  • Don't get me wrong, relative to the market and other recent deals, he is worth a lot.

BUT the market doesn't always work like that. He's worth as much as a team wants/needs him.

He's too lazy for the managers of Chelsea, United, City, Liverpool and Spurs. Arsenal don't pay big on players of his age. Madrid and Barca aren't signing anybody, the rest of La Liga is skint.

So you're left with Marseille who sold him for £10 million only last season (how do they feel about buying him back for £30 million?) or PSG maybe, a big German team? Or China, who would pay big, but probably unlikely.

    ;hmm
  • The one consolation is if we flogged him for £25m and he produced wonders for Marseille at least it wouldn't be in our league, and therefore we would not have our faces openly rubbed in the dirt
  • The West Ham squad had arranged to go out for dinner via their WhatsApp group which Obiang removed Dimitri Payet from. [via @ExWHUemployee]

Mark Noble and James Collins told Payet that he was not invited to join them for their squad meal out. [via @ExWHUemployee]
  • Surely he's good as gone then

Sell him as he's never ever going to play if he's lost the support of his teammates (add the fans made their feelings clear)
  • I don't think ExWHUEmp should have put that in the public domain. It to me smacks of snooping.
  • Depends if you believe him or not, Suz.

I do like the idea of Noble and Ginge stood arms crossed telling him he can't come out to play though.
  • I'm inclined to not believe him.
  • Me too,

    however as an observation,

I doubt that Ginge would need Nobles help in blocking his entrance to the restaurant
