I kept it quiet, but Bilic was my No1 choice from Day 1. Was always going to be a difficult season and one that I hope he negotiates well. It will take time for his style to embed and I hope people on here and in the stands will have a bit of patience ;ok
From the high we were at in December, the crash that followed has left me struggling to care that much about the details that much. Just want to enjoy it and see what happens.
For some reason, enjoyed that Astra game and was jumping up and down probably more than I ever have at a West Ham game.
;ok OCS - From the players signed it looks like we are trying to get more speed at the back & more imagination in the middle, hopefully we can find someone else to put them in. All in all i like the direction especially with youth, i hope we can get some early results and keep the pressure off, we certainly don't want to dig a hole and spend the rest of the season trying to climb out of it.
I think it will be a slow start but 6/7 games in we should have a good idea of what idea Slaven has for style of play and what sort of force we will be especially away from home on the break .
For me the fact Big Sam has gone is good reason enough to support a guy who wouldn't have been my choice , we all have opinions mine is we could and should have gone all out for Frank De Boar .
Rav - full or a lot, the point stands; if we have a lot of dross, surely we were lucky to get 12th, and that was some other West Ham in the top 4 for much of the first half of the season.
I'd guess everyone wants Bilic to do well, for obvious reasons, but if he doesn't, then I think blaming the squad he inherited is a joke.
Well I'm happy so far, and looking forward to the season, battering a few teams and being battered by others. Would be nice to smash 5+ past somebody and to get some decent results against Manu, chavski etc. a cup run would be great, and to play with some spirit. But mostly I want to see a bit of style and class. ;ok

Bilic is on record as saying he inherited a good group of players; still what does he know?
I wouldn't expect him to slate the squad.
That would be really demoralising.
Kouyate Noble, Nolan, Amalfitano Jarvis Poyet Downing
Tomkins, Reid, Collins, Henry
Cresswell, O’Brien, Hendrie
Adrian
The 20 players that were here when he arrived. How many would you give the label of 'dross' to, rav?

Maiga, Noble, Nolan, Aflaminto, Jarvis, Downing, Collins, JOB.
Not seen enough of Hendrie and #BramptonBomber
Jury out on AC and Valencia
I just think he needs three windows to build his own team and will judge him then.
I won't be happy if it turns out to be '1 step forward, 2 steps back'.
I already feel like we are being encouraged to lower our expectations.
I don't want to!! You can't make me! ;weep
I just wanna enjoy it.
If we see better football but finish lower it won't bother me.
Jury's out for Maiga too ;hug

Come on Tone
We're waiting..
Even the players which have under performed would still make it into a lot of PL teams squads imo.
I agree we have to move some players on but if they are dross how would we describe Mido, Big boned Benni, Nigel the relegator etc etc
