Aaron Cresswell says West Ham United now approach each and every game with the intention of winning it.
The Hammers have made an eye-catching and hugely entertaining start to life under manager Slaven Bilic, rising to third in the Barclays Premier League, scoring in every one of their ten matches and scoring 22 goals in total.
“We definitely have a different philosophy this season,” said the No3. “The signings that the gaffer made in the summer have helped: Lanzini, Dimitri Payet looks a fantastic player. We just have to continue the form we are in at the minute, especially away from home.
“We are going into each game full of confidence – we don't fear anyone, whether away or at home against the top sides as we have shown this season. We have beaten four of the top teams in the Premier League so long may it continue.”
I think this game is a big test for SB. Was Watford just a blip? Or was it the start of a wobbly spell? Everton is always a horrible game and he has to get his tactics spot on.
The article suggests we won't have Valencia available, which means Carroll will almost certainly start. Which I'm a bit ;hmm about.
They should have been around when games were played Christmas Day with reverse fixtures Boxing Day and dependent upon which weekday Christmas fell they could play on the Saturday too. What would they have made of that.
He is pointing out that we (along with everyone else) have to play 3 games in the space of 7 days, and that is one too many (given that the accepted recovery time after a game is 3 days.)
I don't see what relevance how hard or how little other people work has to do with it.
If you want elite athletes to perform to elite levels, they need to be able to recover properly. If you take that recovery time away, their performance is liable to be lower than their optimum, regardless of how much they get paid, or how much other people have to do to earn a fraction of their wages.
Tbh, I think it's a myth when people like to take the mick out of "poor little footballers unable to play 3 games in 5 days on £100,000 a week", as I've never heard a footballer complain about it.
I've scarfed up Suzanne's ;redwine can I have my £50 notes please? ;wahoo otherwise I'll have to make do with a half and half Vicks and Deep Heat and a rub down with the Sporting Life ;biggrin
I thought the same thing when I read this. What's the point of bringing this up? Why make public that Slaven only got the job because Rafa, Klopp and possibly others turned it down? He does say that he's happy with the manager he got but that gets hidden in the rest of the story.

That's the modern game. The best teams have creativity and pace in the forward positions.
Opposite of Jarvis, Downing, Nolan etc....

Thanks for sharing, TWC ;thumbsup
Slav's column.
Totally agree with him about the media coverage of McCarthy's (site rules..) challenge. Non existent!

Good news on the injuries and you can feel he just wants us to keep it together in the next few games, a win or two keep ticketing over.
Then with injuries back we can push on.
Don't think you have taken SB right, tbh.

(not aimed at you at all, aka) ;ok
Does rubbing £100 pound notes on a muscle help it recover quicker?
If so I might try that on my hip.
I better make it 2 £50's then ;lol
Move away from the ;redwine Suzanne.
No wonder the bloke in the bar gave me such a good exchange rate on the Euro...
;weep
