Interesting that he makes a point of saying that Payet was a signing he pushed for, had seen a few articles that suggested that the process had started before he arrived, although it could be that the Daves had identified him and Bilic was like 'yeah I want that one'!
Is encouraging to think that he has identified creativity as a key area.
Sang the same , as when Saint go marching. Ohhhhh mr b, what can it be Ohhhhhhhh'llll mister b. What can it be!!!!! 1:nil 2:nil 3;nil What ever we are beating a team #thereshope
Just watched Slav's first press conference and was very impressed. He was really passionate, confident and spoke with authority. Described what he saw in the new signings and how he had studied them previously.
I hate the way they do the sound in those video clips of the interview: the question comes across as a mumble mumble mutter.
Either edit it so we just hear the manager's statements/comments and the questions are cut out, or adjust the sound so we can hear what has been asked.
The current way, we have probably a quarter of the video being film of Bilic sitting silently while there's an indistinguishable burble coming out of the speakers.
Austin, it is impressive. But he has lived and worked in England.
He's clearly good at languages, being also (according to wikipedia) fluent in German and Italian too. (Although I think Italian is quite similar to Croatian? ;hmm )
I was a bit ;nonono when I read the article, but when I listened to the interview it seemed to me that he wasn't quite saying that (how they put it in the report) - that he was a ' West Ham Fan' in the normal sense that we use the phrase, I mean ;hmm
It was more like 'he really wants to play for West Ham'.
Mrs Grey I love the way you mediate ubiquitously to head off potential conflict even before it starts. Have you thought of a job in the United Nations?
That is how I heard it too Mrs Grey - he said he (Jenks) really wants to be here and play for the club, which makes him like Mark, who is a fan...
Tis not really relevant to this thread but just watched a little piece on Tony Carr and the Academy on BT sport, little interviews with Rio, Frank, Joey and Defoe (no Carrrick though which made me a bit ;angry ) was nice to hear them talk with real fondness for the place.
Really see Rio back at the club one day...he was interviewing Gerrard the other week and they were discussing why he (Gerrard) never left even and Gerrard was saying its the club he loved, family ties etc, and winning anything there would/did mean more to him than any trophies with another club and Rio said that he'd never thought of it like that but that was because he'd left the club he had that bond and love for (us).
Hopefully Bilic will continue to give the youngsters a chance in the Europa and cups and we will have a new batch of home grown stars to cheer on (yay I brought it back on topic!)

Can you guess?
Good interview with Slaven ;ok

Very impressed. ;clap
How telling do we think it is that Nobes is the one sat with him at his first press conference? Captain?

Sheesh. ;doh
To be fair, that's not the new website, more the media team
Their ineptitude goes back a long way ;biggrin
All good, imo.
The words I'd use to describe how he comes across are 'downbeat', 'laconic' and realistic.
Darren Randolph: "Did I miss anyone out? Oh Randy! We needed a new goalkeeper. They all look really good."
Randy ;lol I don't know why that made me laugh as much as it did ;lol
