Still after Kroupi from Lorient for £35m. Also in talks with Celtic over Cummings for £500k. This on top of the possible Ferguson loan.
It is being reported Chelsea might offer the money up front for Kroupi whilst Mr Sullivan wants to do his usual lower bid with add ons tactic, hopefully his plan may work this time.
I didn't watch the Brighton game yesterday, but reading some comments on KUMB suggested Ferguson's not really match fit which is hardly surprising given how little he's played this season and not at all since he got 5 minutes against us just before Christmas. Did any of you watch the match yesterday? How did he look?
My gut feeling is that he's some way off being at his best, and, given that we've only 14 games left after Chelsea, he's unlikely to be exceptional in the time he'll be here. If he is, then we'll truly regret not having an option, but it seems as though that's not on the table. An outright purchase or an obligation amounting to the same thing is far, far too risky so I'm not surprised we wouldn't accept that, but if he has an average/OK spell with us and has no futher injury issues then we could be in pole position to sign him for a relatively reasonable fee in the summer.
I get the argument that all we're doing is getting him fit for Brighton, but my gut feeling is that he's been Potter's first choice all along (comments he's made have always suggested he didn't think a deal for a CF would be done till the end of the window, with Brighton also saying that Ferguson wouldn't move till the end of the window) with a view of something permanent once he's proved his fitness.

Chelsea are richer than us.
That is the type of comment you see regularly on the Womens football thread on the BBC HYS. Doesn't make it any more palatable!

The first of the day "we should have been all over this deal".
SSN reporting Kroupi is joining Lyon.
(Note: This is a tongue in cheek comment. My tongue is in my cheek.)
