  • 🤡 Welcome to the asylum. Sorry, West Ham United. 🤡
  • But they won't be. 🤷‍♂️
  • This is in the Daily Mail this morning. Article says he has just taken up this position.

    Can he do both?

We're delighted to announce that Graham Potter has joined the @PFA Business School as course co-director for the certificate in Football Psychology, Emotional Intelligence and Leadership. 🤝
  • I’m no fan of J Lo but this is really starting to annoy me. IMO he is being sacked by the press as much as anyone. e.g he is he is being reported as being at the training today, possibly for talks. Surprise - a manager goes to his workplace on a Tuesday!

He has lost his last 2 games, against Man City and Liverpool! The teams he has beaten are not top six, but he should be “winning them anyway”. Nobody mentions he has a good record compared to previous managers, and his overall record like-for-like is not that bad. He has only had a few months , and has improved some areas, with signs he may do more given time.

Sky, etc find it difficult to say anything positive about West Ham but are all over it when anything negative is possible.

Only get rid of him when there is someone better out there. But that doesn’t make for good headlines!

If that’s the case that’s an awful way to treat an employee. They should be ashamed.😡

Sullivan and Brady have no shame, they've proved that time and time again with us, as well as numerous times before they arrived here.

  • @ScotHammer, He has a worse win ratio than Avram Grant so he can't be doing that well!

Not for us, surely? Not in the PL I'm sure.
  • You can imagine the players are really training hard and hanging on his every word today with all these reports going round.

If he had any authority this limbo isn’t going to help at all whether he stays or not now (not saying players shouldn’t be professional and work hard regardless, but that’s probably not the real world)
  • Reading in various places our lovely fans saying about the manager “ he’s had plenty of money and plenty of time”.Really? Twenty games?.
Also criticising the prospective new bloke, “ He failed at Chelsea, cheap option “ etc.
I really don’t get it. Who do they want, Pep?🤷🏻‍♂️

    Plenty of money , we’ll, yeh….,
Plenty of time, perhaps not, but IMO he’s had enough time to improve us in all areas of the pitch, he’s IMO failed miserably…IMO…

The rest, I have no comment 🤣⚒️
  • Potter having doubts? JL still taking training. MO’N & Avram all over again. Horrendous.

From that article: Under Lopetegui, West Ham now have a 31.81% win rate, with 7 wins, 5 draws, and 10 losses over 22 games (including Carabao Cup games).

Article seems to be including cup games.

As I thought, not in the PL, Grant's figures were boosted by cup game wins, mostly against lower league opposition. Grant only managed 7 wins in the PL all season, a win rate of just 18.42%; J-Lo is currently on a PL win rate of 30%. Actually, I'm being a bit harsh as Grant was sacked before the last PL game, so his PL record is 7 wins from 37 (not 38) games, making it 18.92%.

  • Ah, facts.

    <3
  • Well by all accounts that’s another fine mess they’ve got themselves into…………if Potter is really the guy they want then maybe it is not a terrible thing to sound him out but there must be a way of doing it without alerting everybody,

    But what do I know

Of course it’s the luck of the draw in cup competitions 👍 but J Lo’s record is still it appears inferior to Abram Grant’s or are the facts inaccurate?
  • How many games did they win on a Monday?

And if he is the guy you want, then you have to offer him a better deal than until the end of the season, that sounds so ridiculous, I frankly do not believe it

    But what do I know

  • @MrsG, I am a messenger not a fact finder 😄.

I think Grant's PL record of under 19% win rate is miles worse than J-Lo's 30%, regardless of what their overall records might be.
  • To have a worse record than Avram, that sounds SO BAD .....!!!!
  • Farcical. J Lo would probably tell them to stuff it if he wasn’t due a huge pay off. Appalling if the club are doing this. In a way I hope Potter takes the Everton job to teach West Ham a lesson. Same players left, and they should hang their heads in shame.
  • “Fonseca and Galtier both interviewed
Latest from Sky Sports News' Dharmesh Sheth and Kaveh Solhekol:
The two managers West Ham have interviewed are Paulo Fonseca and Christoph Galtier.
Sky Sports News had previously reported three candidates, including Graham Potter, had been interviewed about becoming head coach if Julen Lopetegui departed the club.”

I don’t get this “if he departed the club” comment. It’s not as if it’s his choice at the moment but if I was him I’d say stuff you I’m off. This is tantamount to constructive dismissal.

  • Nicked from the BBC.

Defence is as bad as it was last year.

Attack- wise, we are taking more shots but scoring fewer goals.
  • Out of curiosity, does anyone think that a manager's former playing position has an influence on his coaching regarding tactics or style of play?
  • Yep, absolutely.
  • Horrendous.

Being reported that Lop has cancelled a team bonding meal tonight as he awaits the sack. Really disgusting way to treat a respected man, especially given the recent news over his father. Shameful.
