Can’t see any point in such an ultimatum as winning or losing would technically be out of his hands. They may well think we’ll give him one more game etc but doubt they’d actually say it.
That’s two managers then that have issues with Steidten.
That’s probably (no evidence just a gut feeling 👍) they couldn’t let TS scout & recruit players for them to coach as neither of them can work under those conditions.
ITK on KUMB says the decision was made unanimously this morning to sack JL. This was then leaked (but not sure who by). Since the leak it has all gone silent at the club.
I don’t get the Potter dislike. You can say Brighton improved two or three levels after him, but I would argue they’ve only been able to because of the work he did transforming them after Hughton. He took them two or three levels himself, which would be perfect for us. He made them defensively sound (if I remember correctly without looking) and they created tonnes of chances, they just didn’t have anyone to put them away.
And the Chelsea thing isn’t a big deal, IMO. Pochetino failed there too, as have plenty of managers. Yes, Enzo’s doing well there at the moment, but that’s more a sign of him doing a great job, rather than anyone else doing a particularly poor job, for me.
Sky say a source has told Sky Sports that if an agreement is reached with a replacement, Lop will be sacked. Potter has not agreed yet & Everton remain interested.

If this is true, it is ridiculous.
If he is to go, he should be let go irrespective of a replacement.
What a difference a new manager can make! 19 Dec 2023 — Nottingham Forest sack Steve Cooper following a run of one win in 13 games. Less than 13 months later: 6 Jan 2025 - Nottingham Forest win their 6th consecutive PL game (under Nuno Espirito Santo) and sit 3rd. on same points as Arsenal in 2nd.
As far as I could find out it's basically the same squad. Would Potter be able to achieve something similar?

I think what's interesting to note about this is that Nuno was viewed as a failure after his spell at Spurs. Lukerz said yesterday about Potter failing at Chelsea, and I think there are parallels between a manager who succeeds abroad, then with a smaller Premier League side, struggles at one of the uppity Super League wannabees, and then finds their level again.

Hasn’t worked for two years (great!).
Brighton improved two or three levels after he left.
Chelsea were awful under him.
But we will have 60% of the ball on the halfway line & in our own half.
Happy days!

He was bushwhacked at Chelsea.
Look forward to his tenure.

Ex is saying Steidten could be in trouble as Potter may want Dan Ashworth as DoF.
