Although I wouldn't mind them doing away with the playoffs, and just promoting the 3 teams who, over a season, have proven to be the better players/teams.
I've really not paid any attention to the CL this season (not that I do in any other season tbh), but just how ridiculous is the current format? I know it's been done to appease the bigger clubs and give them a chance to qualify even if they miss out on the usual routes (ie their position in their domestic league), but it's utterly stupid to have a league where some teams have played much tougher fixtures than others.
So far this season West Ham have the second largest average attendance behind ManU who are way ahead. Yet we struggle to attract top players, you would think that players would want to be performing on one of the biggest stages in the EPL. Why?

I think the stadium isn’t much of a selling point for us, as the atmosphere isn’t great, and our home fans have a reputation for getting on top of the players quickly.
Outcast, What they appear to do well is bringing in players from across the globe that don’t cost too much relatively and they make them into even better players.

But that isn't to do with size of club, or the money, as has been suggested in earlier posts. That is entirely down to having the ability to identify the talent, and then use the talent effectively.
Players follow the money. The bigger clubs pay the bigger wages.
Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford are bigger- really?
I don't think I said that. I think we pay bigger wages in general than they do and I don't believe they have bought what were considered to be 'top players' prior to their signing.

So I checked here.

Excuse the plagiarism Br.Sledge
Arsenal 1-1 Villa with Mervyn Day
Grimsby 5-1 Wolves
,Bristol City 3-0 Bristol Rovers with Keith Curle and Ian Holloway
We lost 1-0 at home to Everton that weekend, I was 23 and had bought Hatful of Hollow that week
And had hair
As he went past, I saw he'd had it printed with Fullkrug 11. A bold but not particularly wise choice, with hindsight.
I was quite impressed that he was wearing it while out and about, I must say.
If that was you, you can make yourself known. We won't judge 😆.
😡
Wasn't sure where to post this, and if true, another Hammer horror news item.....
Edit: I've found it and as it is quite short, I've just amended the title to cover this season as well. I'll bump it now
And copied over.
