  • It’s been on the OS today
  • Perhaps he should get a guard dog =)
  • Maybe it was a cat burglar out for revenge

  • Our u18's in action at home to Soton in the Youth FA Cup this evening, looking to repeat last season's success. 1-1 at the end of normal time, they're just about to start 30 mins extra time. Available to watch on Youtube and the OS.
  • We win 4-2 on penalties 😊😊😊
  • bit nerve racking guess they have been watching the first team =) on another topic Rooney looks in trouble at Birmingham why do players think they can become managers over night
  • I watched a bit but a WiFi issue limited my viewing.

    Thank goodness, cos penalties=🤯

    Well done our kids 😁

Not quite overnight. He's been managing/coaching for 4 seasons and he's got his Uefa pro qualification.
  • Perhaps he should take it again then =)
  • Watching Palace v Liverpool, it took me a while to get it but from a distance Mo Salah is a dead ringer for Derek Hales.

    One for the kids there.

I remember Derek Hales, unplayable during a full moon.

Watching Man Unt and Bournemouth, I thought Van Gogh v Bruce Springsteen is really no contest. And I was right 😁

So Turkey has banned all football and Greece has banned all fans from football for two months. 😱

A brain teaser from GCHQ, aimed at school kids:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-67707647

I got the first 5 and answered the "Final Challenge", and reverse engineered 6 and 7 but haven't quite worked out the logic for them just yet.

    I've got 6 now, d'oh.
  • I gave up after the first one =)

England chase down a target of 223 to beat WI in the 3rd T20 of 5 to keep the series alive. Phil Salt hit 109 not out off 56 balls, but it really came down to Harry Brook's stunning 31 not out off just 7 balls to see us home with a ball to spare, hitting 24 off the first 5 balls of the final over.
  • Btw, did no-one other than Steve have a go at the GCHQ brain teaser?
  • Hadn't had time to look.

I'm more or less ok with the first one. Got 2 of the groups, not sure about the third but is enough to get the Christmas link

But then there aren't all the other questions... Do you have to go to another site?
  • Oh, it might not even be 1.

Could be 3 of a bigger puzzle set, on a different site ...

Tbh, I enjoy cryptic crossword puzzles, although I don't have that much time to spend on them now.

If anyone else is a fan, it would be great to have a separate thread where we can do the 'got the answer but not sure why it's that' ( also known as parsing) type discussion. For me, that's a big part of the fun.

    ( I know, I'll get my coat....)

All 7 puzzles are towards the bottom of the page linked, as is the "Final Challenge".
  • Good result by our u18s, beating top of the table Spurs:

We're 2 points behind but with a game in hand now.
  • Thanks for posting that Buffy. Some poor finishing in the first half, we could have had 3, but much better in the second. Good to see our keeper catching the ball!
