Bit quiet on here, hasn’t Declan / his dad/ his cat/ his next door neighbour/ bloke on Twitter/ bloke down the pub,not said anything overnight?
  • Declan and his Dad were in discussions with Mount in where they could both play together next
His cat was high on catnip
His next door neighbour was cooking a Sunday roast.. lamb I believe
    Twitter was down
Bloke down the pub did have vital updates but unfortunately was too sozzled and his words were incomprehensible 🤷‍♂️ those pesky Smirnoff ice’s did him (other alco pops are available).
  • Great multitasking there Rav. Found out all that info whilst watching Love Island and the U21 Euros.
  • Declan Rice and his Father both sign up for Love Island after a chain of coincidences and a desire to launch their own brand
  • Baz, They probably would if it allowed them to stay in London. =)

Accept it and send him off to City
  • Why they making bids so late 😂 🤷‍♂️

Because Jack is still up and playing with the fax machine
  • Been jammed all day and now he’s finally got it working
  • Why is it that these clubs think 90M is good for us? All these bids seem wind up being around that amount with add ons. Surely City could just got to 100M and give Sullivan something to think about. I so hope he plays Levy hard ball and doesnt sell Rice for less that 110M just to stick it to them all or keep him another season. We have Kretinskys extra money, we're not poor and could deal with the loss of the money if we keep him for more time
  • SSN said last night it was £100 million we were after but the original figure was £120M, the latest bids are 75% of that with adds ons included why?
  • I guess that our valuation of £100 to £120m is higher than their valuation.
This could go on for a while....
  • I'd imagine £90m plus £10m add ons would do it.
  • Man City will probably pay the 80 million up front. Arsenal think they're purchasing a mortgage.
  • With £10m add ons such as if he scores against Spurs.. but it has to be in the 76th minute.. and with his left foot.
  • And on it rolls...

City's £90m bid is rejected according to Jason Burt at The Telegraph.

I do admire the Sullivan stance to hold out for our valuation. £90m would represent his biggest ever mark up on a player, but knows he can get more.

Still, I'd want this concluded by the end of the week. Don't really want Rice turning up for pre-season training, to be honest, unless of course he's staying for another year.

This is where the deadline thing comes to play for me. I don't think it needs to be this week, but I don't think it's unreasonable for us to say that we won't be accepting any bids after 7th July or something like that. Clearly, we've set our stall out and said what we want, and if meets our valuation by then, that's it.
  • Is Declan in holiday at the moment?
Not seen anything on his socials.
I know this won’t impact the deal as he can be flown in from anywhere to be presented. Just interested

He's probably keeping a low profile. Anything he posts will be jumped on by Arsenal fans anyway so he's better off keeping off it for a while.

Isn't it conceivable that we need this done by 30th June to meet certain FFP regulations (ie to be included in one year's figures rather than the following year's)?

  • Surely ffp follows normal financial year dates, not football season dates?

31st May is our year end.

Come on City, extra £10m up front, £10m add-ons (taking it to £100m total) plus Phillips. Easy.
  • I'm not sure we are in FFP trouble. The £65m loss from 2019-20 falls off the 3 year rolling profit/loss calculation so we get some leeway on last years transfer spend.
    UEFA FFP is tougher though.

    So what do we reckon

    £80m + £10m - Arsenal bid 1
    £75m + £15m - Arsenal bid 2

    £80m + £10m - Man City bid 1 (paid over shorter period)

All three bids amount to £90m. Are we going to on get much more?
