    I've just seen quotes from Danny Murphy encouraging Rice to go on strike to force through a move to Arsenal...

    It only happened to me once in my career but you have to make it perfectly clear that if you keep me here, I won't be playing. And even though you don't really believe it long term you have to do it.

    I don't often get on board with the narrative that the media hate us, but the fact you've got one of the analysts on the most high profile football show (MOTD) in the country encouraging a player from one team to literally go on strike to force through a transfer to another, is not a good look, IMO.

    @alderz, It isn't anything personal I reckon Danny Murphy has said that in the past about other players having to consider how best to push for a transfer.

    I don't think Rice would do that. He loves the club, why leave on a negative note. I am sure he understands we want a premium for him

    That is actually disgusting coming from a pundit. If i was the club i would put in a request to the BBC and whoever employs him as a pundit that Danny Murphy is no longer allowed to comment on West Ham games on national TV if that is his position.
