Premier League splitting itself from the rest has about as much chance of becoming reality as the European Super League ever had
FIFA, UEFA and the FA would be against it. Any clubs forming a breakaway league would be excluded from the FA Cup, UEFA compeitions and the players from playing in internationals.
The Big Six have nothing to gain from a league without relegation as the chances of any of them getting relegated are minimal but they would have a lot to lose from not playing in Europe
It doesn't matter if the owners are from USA, China, Saudi Arabia or Outer Mongolia, it's not going to happen
Derek Redmond's dad has passed away, I'm sure many of us will remember him helping his son across the line in an emotional 400m at the Olympics in Barcelona in 1992:
Liz Truss comes onto the Tory Conference stage to "Moving on up" by M People. Ironically M People singer Heather Smalls' son is a Labour councillor but the lyrics are certainly appropriate...
You've done me wrong, your time is up You took a sip from the devil's cup You broke my heart, there's no way back Move right out of here, baby, go on pack your bags
Just who do you think you are? Stop actin' like some kind of star Just who do you think you are? Take it like a man, baby, if that's what you are
Reports that there is a way around the Rugby Premiership attempts to have a closed shop to relegation. Worcester Warriors go into insolvency so get demoted but they can appeal. A slight glimmer of hope to a team hoping to get promoted.
From the BBC. West Ham’s landlords have said they would be willing to consider handing over negotiations around naming rights for the London Stadium if the Premier League club offered them £4m-a-year.
London Legacy Development Corporation chief executive Lyn Garner was speaking at a London Assembly discussion around the benefits of the 2012 Olympic Games.
It has been estimated naming rights could secure £4m a year and it was pointed out at that level, £40m had been lost since the stadium was opened.
“The concept has moved from simply selling stadium naming rights but rights across the whole of the park," said Garner.
We could end up paying more for the naming rights than the £3m a year we pay for use of the stadium.
On the plus side for the taxpayer, losses on the stadium are reducing are should be less than £17m this year (same statement, posted on BBC daily football roundup).
"Indeed, Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly, who is friends with Newcastle co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi, has previously spoken of how the Premier League's "big six will become the big seven" following the Magpies takeover."
So thanks to the Chav Septic's comment, we can now add the barcodes to the list of teams to hate.
They’ve been there for years for me. Had a bit of “Bantz” recently with some soppy geordie when he compared our shady owners with their murdering torturers. I think I got him when I said that I couldn’t recall anyone being murdered by a porn mag or dismembered by a vibrator. He went a bit quiet after that.
Someone who just happens to own a football club without actually understanding football but still feels he needs to share his inane thoughts with the world. No doubt the other owners find his ignorant comments mildly amusing. like a Premier League village idiot
Considering how taciturn Abramovich was it must be highly embarrassing for the Chelsea fans that the owner keeps spouting nonsense to the press. I can only imagine what that must feel like (oh, hang on).
Meanwhile Adult website Stripchat has offered £180m for 10-year naming rights at Everton's new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium
Enoch Mwepu of Brighton has had to retire aged 24 because of a heart condition. Very sad, but also good to see that these things are spotted, and sensible decisions are taken.
We're meant to be home to Man U, Fulham home to Leicester and Spurs home to Palace that weekend but obviously there won't be enough plod available so probably more matches postponed in an already crowded season

That may suit as the Conference League Semi 1st Leg is the following Thursday (11th).
From BBC "Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be the "20-goal-a-season striker" Chelsea have missed since Diego Costa left, says the club's former goalkeeper Robert Green." - who never made a single appearance for them.
Slightly off piste, but it's my first round of golf tomorrow, in a company golf-day (even tho' I've retired). Had lessons, but the nerves of that first tee shot are giving me sleepless nights. I should be used to that feeling, after supporting the mighty Hammers for 55 years 🤣

Imagine having to explain that to the kids!
Aslef, step forward and take a bow.
