Just look at the respective benches. Absolutely miles apart. When I read that Sterling, Cancelo, Jesus and Foden were rested, I thought our chances might improve. Then I saw who's replaced them and I thought again.

Zinchenko is their weakest player, so we need to target him. Not that it will make much difference to the game.

Again, two goalies on the bench. Why? OK, Fredericks may have been a later withdrawal but could have some other outfield player to provide options. Could have given experience of being in the squad to an emerging player.

Our under 23s can’t buy a win so I don’t think many of them are emerging.

I don’t think the benches matter much. We give it a good go with our first 11 for as long as we can & we still have options like Benrahma & Lanzini. We’ll lose today comfortably & it need not be panic stations when we do. 👍

Nine on the bench is nonsense anyway so makes little difference who subs 6 to 9 are imo. Fabs our number one for sure but I have no real concerns over Ranolph.

It was quite far for Randolph to come, IMO if anyone could have done better it’s Diop, but I think the quality of the hall undid us tbh.
