  • IMO it would be a good signing and give us strength in depth up front when inevitable injuries occur
  • Manning / King / Cantwell would plug the necessary gaps.

Would definitely take these three plus a CB. Can't see Cantwell coming though because I think Norwich would want too much. If we can get Manning and King for £15-20m then it's good business as both cover a couple of positions, and would leave us with £10-15m (if you believe C&H's reports on the budget) for a CB (hopefully Rodon).
  • Sounds like Rodon is the only CB in the league....

Literally haven't heard a single other CB mentioned

Are there really no other good centre backs in the championship?
  • If Josh King lets us play the same way we do with Antonio - then yes please- Been many seasons we have a triangle replacing a square replaced by a circle.

I believe the term for that in the sci-fi community is shape-shifting =)

The Guardian reckon Bournemouth want £17.5m for Josh King but we think its too much as his contract expires at the end of the season. £10m seems to be the most popular valuation but City offered £25m in January. King is on £45k pw, he's also been linked with WBA and Everton.

From the same article Swansea want £18m for Rodon and Spurs are interested. I suspect we'll be more likely to get Dawson for £4m.
  • Daniel levy won’t pay anywhere near £18m for him
  • Didn't I read Spurs offered £7m?
  • Dont blame the club if we dont want to pay £18mil

Hes a good player and I'd love him to be part if her squad, but he could leave on a free in 9 months and is 28

Hope they can sort out a deal though, would be a great asset

There are barely any good CBs in the premier league either tbh
  • The deal for King won't just be about Bournemouth's valuation but about his wages. The smart deal for him is to wait and sign as a free agent in the summer and pocket a very large signing on fee that the signing club will not have to pay to Bournemouth. Should he move now you can be sure that the wage he agrees will need be significantly higher than 45k per week to compensate for that signing on fee.

  • King is a no brainer.

He plays in any position up top; left, right, striker, No.10.

Would cover for Antonio & Haller as well as provide competition for Fornals. He’s also very different to Fornals, so would give us a more dynamic option. Plenty of PL experience & has got goals at PL level.

If he is available, & we can afford him, get him in.

    From the Guardian article
He is understood to be keen to play as a No 9, as opposed to operating as a wide forward, a role he has previously played at Bournemouth.
  • It’s on the bbc gossip column today that we are interested in Manning, King and Steve Cook. I’d take Cook over Dawson, but he’s not exactly an upgrade on any of our CBs
  • Bournemouth want £17 mio for King £11 Mio for Cook and Manning is about £4 Mio we might get two . Problem we have too many positions that need players not enough money we can't afford to get better players than we have in our first 11 just improve the squad. If we sign King can see Haller going in January.

Arthur pulls out of international duty due to injury. And so it begins.
  • Oh. Hope it's only a week-long one.
  • Other reports say Bournemouth would accept £11m ish for king
  • We could always just slot Anderson or diangana in till he’s fit, nurse nurse where did you put my tablets 😂😂
  • No-one is going anywhere near king at £17m when in 264 days (or 37.7 weeks) he can be signed for free
  • No-one is going anywhere near king at £17m when in 264 days (or 37.7 weeks) he can be signed for free

C&H now reporting that we won't be signing King before the deadline. He wants to much money, his agent wants too much money, and Bournemouth want too much money 😂
  • From a fee point of view it would be £5m or less in January which actually is not that far away.

Or our owners don't want to spend any money.
  • He's not a priority.
  • Let’s get manning done quickly at £5m (if that is the quantum), so there’s an improvement in positivity. It’s a start at least

Not quite true. They are ok doing so if it is to pay someone to leave
  • Paying money for Craig Dawson would be such a stupid deal. Especially when we flogged a 15 goal championship striker for 2.5m

Plus Masuaku has pulled out of the DR Congo games through injury, so a LWB could be needed rather urgently.

    Who's that then?
