  • I think Creswell was in front of Rodriguez when the ball came over but he did not move apart from a stupid foot in the air. He should do much better than that
  • Cresswell is a bottler & has been for around 3 years now.
  • If Cresswell had put a proper challenge in it could well have been sufficient to put Rodriguez off.

If Cresswell had put a proper challenge in it could well have been sufficient to put Rodriguez off.

If he'd have commited to clearing the ball with his head he would have stayed in front of Rodriguez (and got to the ball first), not just put him off.
  • If, if, if Yarmo, hadn't lost the ball that led to the break, if Fredericks had been a bit quicker to close down Taylor, if Diop/Oggie had got back, if, if, if........
The fact is the defence needs some serious strengthening, either by personnel or by tactics.
As someone has already posted, Burnley have lost only 1 out of the last 12, so it was always going to be a tough game.
The major worry is Moyes's stubbornness in deciding when to make substitutions. Complaining about too many games in too short a period and then not using the subs available to him makes him look stupid.
  • If it was a one off then fair enough, but it wasn't.
  • Hmmmmm

Burnley had 16 crosses, all from the left wing, none from the right

Maybe Mr Dyche saw a weakness in our defending and went for it
  • Please let’s not let Haller come back only to have him up top on his own, Antonio has the strength to make a decent fist of the role by holding the ball up and making a general nuisance of himself but, at least to me, Haller needs someone to play off.

  • Bowen - Haller - Antonio

Worked well before lockdown, with Fornals or Lanzini behind.
