It will be paid in instalments over 10 years. By which point many of the children who need it will be adults. Instalments 2 to 10 will be dependent on Deccers being sold.
A very nice gesture, half a million pounds were it replicated throughout the premiership owners. I feel sure Marcus Rashford has had a great deal of support from the football world, most don't seek recognition so we may never know but I would imagine many players would have shown some support.
Woulda been much better if no-one knew about it though.
Maybe. I'm in favour of not making a song and dance about your good deeds ... But if it helps put pressure on others to do the same, or sends a message to politicians that there's widespread or cross- party support for a particular cause then that's a good thing.
Robert Jones, the new ref: 1. He's better than the other Jones; 2. He started well but made some odd decisions later on; 3. Is he Kier Starmer moonlighting? (See also 1 & 2)
Manchester United have offered 1500 free tickets ( when crowds are allowed ) to the NHS as a thankyou for their hard work. The health Secretary has turned the offer down saying NHS staff have suffered enough.
This is an interesting article that contains some cool analysis. We are 8 points up on comparative games from last year, which is the second biggest improvement in the league.
I just looked at the league table from last year and applied the change in points from equivalent points this season, and, if every other result is the same as last year, we would finish joint 10th on 47 points with Burnley, Everton & Wilfried Zaha Crystal Palace.
Top four would be Liverpool (97pts), Man City (75), Chelsea (70), Leicester (68).
Obviously there are issues with this sort of thing, but it's definitely encouraging to know that we have improved across our games so far, and a lot of other teams have not been able to do the same.
We are clearly heading in the right direction. We are reliant on keeping key players fit, mainly Rice, Antonio and Sucek, but if we can do that this is a really good platform.

Especially as we've got such a thin squad, 4 vacancies in a 25 man squad is criminal from our board.
It's promising but also a warning. We were doing well at this point last season and an injury completely derailed things. At least we know Randolph is competent but we need to have contingency plans for how to get by with this thin squad - something I don't think Pellegrini had.
Hopefully the fixtures we have will mean we're better off but plenty of our dropped points last season weren't against the best teams.
It's honesty humble pie time.... after the Newcastle game, the gutsy defeat at Arsenal and what I thought was a lack of urgency and imagination in the transfer market, I felt very negative, very much " glass half empty". I applaud Mr Moyes and the teams attitude so far. We're looking solid, organised and dangerous on the break. I've haven't felt so good about a set up in yonks. My negativity is so far unfounded and I feel good about the direction we're heading. Fingers crossed we have a good year, I actually think we will.

Not the greatest move as it stands...
With Coufal in, he wouldn't have played
Any sensible offers considered.

He is quoted as saying "I really didn't expect so many injuries.”
