  • The board are far from perfect and I am sure the fans of other clubs moan about their boards/owners aswell. I am however pleased we are owned by people who go to games and are not some faceless billionaire's plaything. They get things wrong but so does everybody , they are doing a decent if unspectacular job but I think we are slowly edging towards being in a decent position as club, once the debt is cleared, to move forward. There are plenty of clubs in Championship/League One etc who are testament to how a club can be badly run .
  • Back to transfers...

Who should we be looking at in the summer? Any players from teams getting relegated?

    No one in my opinion.

Just look no further than our neighbours Charlton and Orient for proof.

Id certainly take Pickford at Sunderland

    Grey,

you missed out the point where DD also made this all up just to get people to buy season tickets, because the waiting list is actually also made up and they are desperate for people to buy tickets...

    MooJ

    Spot on!

    ;whistle
  • He's a decent keeper but I don't see that being our priority.
  • Agree with IH, none of the players in the relegation zone are an improvement on what we have already. Maybe we should look at players in the Championship who miss out on promotion.

I would have gone for Sigurdsson but with Lanzini looking good in the central attacking midfield role I'm not sure where he'd fit in.
  • Personally think they've done "okay".

They've annoyed me with their PR machine and the interest taken back on loans, plus the deferment of the remaining debts they're owed (unless it's because of transfer funds)....not happy about the way they sold the LS tickets but they have spent massive amounts in the transfer windows (compared to what we've seen before), don't like the way they go about certain things, but don't believe they need or should invest their life savings in the club and I like the way they've turned it around running it like a business. Just set the right expectation and stop spouting off.

    That is all.

    ;thumbsup

Defoe would be a good signing and in my opinion would be an improvement on our strike force. Him and AC ... ;hmm

I hope it is a priority ;hmm

GK, RB, CM, LW, FW all needed. First team players as well
  • CM - Oriole Romeu
  • Wouldn't mind looking at Fernando, hasn't been an overwhelming success at City but I think he's underrated he does the simple stuff well and City are gonna want rid as he lacks the technique to play for Pep

If he's going on the cheap and for a good wage might be a smart acquisition

Would like to see us try for trippier, he's not a first teamer at Spurs and given they have this new expensive stadium think they will try to keep the spending to a minimum this summer

lol on my facebook someone put that our last 20 goal a season striker was Teddy Sherringham over 12 years ago. West Ham have gone the 3rd longest period out of all PL teams without a 20-goal striker.

Is that all CURRENT premier league teams?

Or maybe some have had more prolific strikers but are now in the lower leagues?

I'm not sure what you are actually comparing?

Is it goals overall, or league goals?
  • Vorse, have made your comment about the current international match the start of a new thread ;ok
  • Carlton Cole rumoured to be joining my local club Billericay town. They have already signed Paul Koncesky and Jamie O'Hara is supposed to be announced tonight. Crazy times for a 7th tier football club !
  • Someone must be bankrolling it?
  • BTFC were bought by Glenn Tamplin - who owns AGP Steel Structures, "The Fabrication Specialist" - in November, less than a week after it was announced that he'd withdrawn a bid for Dagenham & Redbridge.
  • They are saying Mark Wright ex Towie is buying 20% of the club and a documentary will follow ;hmm
  • Is the only way is essex make that much money an episode lol ?
  • its ok saying we spent big in the summer , but if you buy a load of rubbish players what's the point .

How much did this lot cost in wages and loan fee's

    Tore - rubbish
    Calleri - rubbish
    Arbeloa - missing
    Nordveit - never good enough
    Zaza - never worked out.

not all signings work out I understand that but this many is dreadful
business and cannot happen again if we are to ever improve as a club.

in all honesty although I think Ayew will work out so far Fonte and Snodgrass
haven't had the best of starts .

Surely this should tell the board to buy quality proven premier league
    players in the future .....

  • Snodgrass Ayew and Fonte are suppose to fall under that catergory of proven.

However the best players for the majority of teams in the top half apart from Spurs are all Foreign. Need better scouting and a mix of PL quality mixed with Actual pace and technical ability of the other lands !
  • Yeold

It has taken Spurs a lot of transfer windows to get to where they are now.

  • random comment but okay.
  • Yeold

I didn't intend it to be random.

My pint was, that it will take a lot of transfer windows for us to have a hope of significantly improving our squad.
  • Here you are ;beer
  • You should make that a pint of semi skimmed milk, we're not in the off season yet you know.
  • Yu mak on simpl typooo and all Hull backs lose...
  • Thats easy for you to say.
  • i see we are linked to josh king this morning , I like this lad has real pace and quality about him .
  • Nordtveit on his lack of opportunities: “That’s the way football is. Something has been negative, but all in all I do not regret the move.”
