Even though it wasn't a win it just felt perfect. Perfect for the spirit of the team, perfect for Lanzini, perfect for the Bale obsession from the media, perfect for the celebrations from the players, perfect for the reaction from the Spurs fans and most importantly perfect for Grey 👍
Lest we forget, Spurs had just crucified Man Utd and started this game just where they had left that one. Given this, just HOW good a show of strength, resilience and never say die attitude was this from us? Absolutely outstanding.
Interesting stat from BBC Sport. West Ham are the first team in premier league history to avoid defeat in a game having trailed by 3+ goals as late as the 81st minute.
We all rant and rave... bubbles... we good at that!!! Tomorrow is my weekly FaceTime with my Mum and stepdad, a great guy who happens to be a Spurs fan, his only downfalll...
What I saw was us continue to try & take the game to Spurs, which seemed almost an impossible balancing act given we were 3-0 down & a fourth would have risked an absolute cricket score.
First half we were blown away in the opening 15 mins by one player, Kane, & then we continued to build & go forward, but just didn’t quite click in the final third.
Second half we clicked more, continued to be brave on the ball & in our play, didn’t settle for damage limitation & the consolation was the least we deserved given our attitude. I never felt Spurs were in control of the match, with the exception of the scoreline. When we got the second goal, you could sense all the players knew that we would get the next goal.
The scenes at the end were throughly deserved & testament to our attitude & spirit, as well as quality.
Anybody see the lovely ‘ogstruction’ on Winks as Lanzini unleashed?
They discussed it on Sky. Souness said nothing wrong with, Darren Moore said it should have been a foul. I don't think Ogbonna moved to block Winks; I think he was getting out of the way as he could see that Lanzini was pulling the trigger.

And then there would not have been that comeback, what do I know.

I nearly had a "Derek and Clive" moment
Best day I've had in the pub since lockdown
Yarmo on Bale on the other hand...
I fear that I am stuck in a dream and tomorrow morning when I wake up, it will read 3-2 to Spurs with the goal having been chalked off.
