Apart from being privileged and possibly a little spoilt, I don’t think that should stop you taking over the running of the club? I don’t know but they might be quite good at it .
David Sullivan Jnr aka "the notorious Dave Sullivan" (according to his Instagram account) recently declared he was the "new Hugh Hefner" while showing off his £11m central London apartment (owned by his Dad obviously) to The Sun, The Mail and the rest. Hefner made his own fortune while Dave is "working" for his dad so perhaps the "new Donald Trump" would be more accurate,
Well we all gotta have something to aspire to and if you were bought up by a porn baron I guess Hugh Hefner would fill that role. There are probably not too many 20 year old lads however who would see Hugh Hefner as something to aspire to in 2018 as he is a little bit 70's. Sully and he were a little similar I guess as both were primarily associated with porn but where as Hugh Hefner created Playboy sully created the Sunday Sport !
Why does it matter how somebody made his fortune? In what way is it relevant whether somebody earned millions selling porn or cars? As long as it is legal (i.e. not drugs or weapons to terrorists) I could't care less what they did.
"Notorious Dave" didn't make his fortune, his dad did
However on the other side there is Jacqueline Gold who took over Ann Summers and turned it from a small chain of seedy sex shops patronised by men in dirty raincoats into a multi million pound business with 135 stores across the UK by some out-of-the-box thinking.
If any of the kids are going to take over I'd prefer her
I think we need the sharpest brain possible and someone who has proved themselves in the industry. A Daniel Levy type character. I actually think the worst thing we could do is get a hammers legend in as that wouldn't qualify them within the post. Paolo would stop the protests overnight and have them singin his name but not sure he would be qualified to fulfil such a pivotal role. I do recognise that Sir Trev has been involved in the game behind the scenes for a long time but not sure he would want a role that could potentially lose him all the love he has. Other than Sir Trev no other legends come to mind for such a pivotal role.
Sir Trev will be 70 in October so perhaps he's happy being retired, he's packed a lot of football into one working life.
I have to say that given the boards past performance in filling staff roles I'm not expecting much but I'm not discounting the possibility that I could be pleasantly surprised
It (the level of responsibility) will be part of the job description/contract, presumably.
We may or may not get to know the details (after all, why should we - people are entitled to privacy in their employment matters (unless they are public servants).
If you don't a certain amount of a yes man/woman, then all I can see happening is arguments between them and the owners. Is that what any of us want to see?

He's only 20, maybe he'll mature with age........

A good read (warning some naughty words included !)
West Ham to appoint director of football , a good move if a bit late
Best way to win support - sign some good players.
Still got there in the end

Indeed it was.
Because, imo, it was.
Are you in any doubt?
Do you know of any club that gives the Director of Football the power to set transfer budgets?
