It was a solid debut, first half he was impressive and then in the second half he became abit sloppy but that could be down to fatigue. I'd like him to stay on the last man more, like alot of WHU players, they always seem to want to come short and into feet which doesnt help against a deep + organised opposition. Clear that he's got a lot of good qualities about him though.
To me, the issue is (again) service. If the striker is missing chances, then yeah, replace him. But no striker will gain confidence if we are chopping and changing regularly without even creating opportunities for them to take.
What he needs to do is stay on the last line of defender's
He seems to like to drop deep and link up the paly but we need a focal point so think he needs to stay on the last defender more and make runs for our midfield to stretch the defence as our build up is all infront of the opposition
Agree with the above post but don't think he is the type of player to do that, by dropping back he invites pressure on our midfield attack as the defenders push up, so when they do start going forwards there is no outlet further for them to use.
We need someone up their who can at least hold the ball up a bit and lay it back off to the other attackers as they come forwards, then turn and get in the defence to pull them about to create room and gaps.
Oh yes, absolutely, in terms of an overall assessment, I have been disappointed every single game (even his 1st game, when other opinions of other folks were more positive).
I was just referring to the yellow card/dive today. ;ok

Unfortunately he would get in trouble, too many hesitations. He'll get a yellow card ;wink

He has more chance of scoring if he stays on his feet.
He deserved the yellow card.
I only saw 1 replay but it looked to me like yes, the Southampton player's front foot didn't make contact but I thought his trailing leg did.
So while I hate the diving thing, I'm not (yet) convinced he did ;ok
He needs to learn that you have to work much harder in the prem to get anything.
