    Interesting XI

    ------------Butland
    Francis--Dawson--Dann--Daniels
    ------------Drinkwater
    -------Noble-------Barkley
    -------------Dele Alli
    ----------Vardy---Kane

I would actually love to see that XI for England. Except Cresswell and Tomkins in, with Carroll and Antonio on the bench ;wink
  • It's a team fans could get behind.
  • No one there from Man C, Man U, Chelsea or the Pool
  • Swiss, which is why I think its a team fans could get behind ;biggrin

I agree Suze. We're a nation that is known for wanting the underdog to win, so having a team of hardworking, but talented underdogs is surely what we want?

Barkley and Delle don't fit that tag, but the others do.
  • vorse - Bournemouth?
  • Not Trevor then? How disappointing ;biggrin
  • vorse, I know the name but couldn't pick him out of a line-up. ;ok

    Oh, I don't know...

    lineup
  • Back line may be a bit suspect, but midfield 4 and front 2 is THE team we need for the euros

Had enough of mediocre players who play for big teams that get in by default

    Should always be on form

Who is the last out of the dressing room after a match or training?

Mark Noble. I don't think he has a house!

Who would be the first player you would call up for a pub quiz?

I have to say Mark Noble as he has been playing for 60 years and knows everything!

  • Who is the last player you would take fashion advice from?

Ginge. What he wears might be the fashion in Wales but not for me!

    ;lol

    Song surely?
  • Well I'd have though so yes.

So, here's a piece about why Drinkwater should be a shoe-in for England

    http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35811647

    Now, it begins with:
Another stand-out performance for Premier League leaders Leicester on Monday
which already makes me laugh, since he looked pants, imo.

In the section: How does he rate among English midfielders?

who do you imagine are the contenders he might be up against?

    Go on have a guess.

    Guess who it doesn't include...

    Oh, you guessed...
The heatmap below shows that Drinkwater sits in the area in front of the back four. His rivals in that role for England could include Eric Dier, Michael Carrick, Fabian Delph, Jordan Henderson and Phil Jones.
Even though, later in the same article, Mark Noble is considered individually, he is not worthy of a place on the 'rivals' list.

And then they trot out stats to back up his claim.

    image

Bet you can't guess who is just 3 tackles behind...

    Oh, you guessed.

Don't suppose you want to try for which player equals or betters Drinkwater in all the other stats they mention?

    You do?

    That's right!

    Man, you're good at this!

    Capture

Yet it's all about why Drinkwater should be a guaranteed squad member for the Euros...

    Mark! Marky! OI! MARKY MARK!

  • Nice one G.....

Send that to the FA....it's just plain wrong and the idiots in the media have a lot to do with influencing the England Manager, even they shouldn't, but he's weak.
  • Watching SkySports, and Ray Wilkins is talking about Noble & Drinkwater.

On DD he said "his pedigree is good, former Manchester United, so he knows the game." What in the world does that mean?!

On MN, "Mark is just over 30," nope.

    ;doh
  • Sums it all up.
  • Being reported that Danny Drinkwater will receive a call-up to the England squad when it is announced today.
  • *bangs head repeatedly off the train window.
  • I don't have a particular problem with Drinkwater being called up. I think he's had a good season and those players who have good seasons should get call ups.

My issue will be if the likes of Henderson get called up, as he has been dreadful this year.
  • If Noble gets a call up he likely won't be available for his own testimonial ;puzzled
  • He won't anyway Hodgson is a bottle job
  • Hodgson won't pick the players who would fit in to a 'team'.

  • I dont think Ray Wilkins have ever said anything intelligent in his entire life. Or passed a ball forwards... ;hmm
