@alderz, It appears Nuno has already done that task.

You know what next means, right?
Yes I also understand the last one to do it and then there is the "next" one who unless its gone unnoticed is likely to be Nuno?

If Scott Parker is the answer then I assume the question is who do you want to be the next manager to relegate us

I mean this is a ridiculous take - look at his Champ record
    How's his Premier League record?
We’re not in the Prem so wouldn’t worry about it 👍

I base stuff off evidence - his record in the Champ is as good as there is, simple as that
Okay, so keep Nuno then yes? He won the Championship easily enough with Wolves
No - as Nuno has failed in his objective here, which he has had 33 games to achieve. So he goes for failing to fulfil his job description 👍

So we then look at candidates who have good records in the Champ, not sure there are any better than Parker
  • If the only criteria is who can get us up then may as well keep Nuno, he strolled it will Wolves then took them to consecutive top seven finished.

Parker bored his way to promotion with Burnley and then proved yet again he can’t win matches in the Premier League.

Dyche would be our manager by November
  • Our only criteria for next season should be a proven track record of getting promoted (recently). Parker ticks that. Let’s worry about the PL if/when we get back to it.
  • You might think that’s our only criteria but I don’t. I’d like us to appoint a manager capable of both getting us up and keeping us up, rather than needing to go through more upheaval of tactics and players when it isn’t working out
  • I don’t think Parker has yet had the backing to know for sure if he can’t manage at PL level
  • The Championship and Premier are two different tasks, I mean even Lampard can manage in the Champo! This said we don't need worry if someone can manage in the Premier league whilst in the Championship.
  • I personally think keep Nuno. I was going to give a whole bunch of reasons but basically I think we’d probably choose a rubbish manager if we have to get a new one.
  • I think we may have a greater chance of keeping players with Nuno and likely wouldn't attract too many with a better profile. Scott Parker or Gary O'Neil may be up for it however as I suspect Nuno will want a fresh start.

What's Slav doing these days? I'm sure he'd love to have another shot with us.
  • Dicanio
  • I just don’t believe, after relegation, you keep the manager who oversaw it. Whether it’s Parker or somebody else, we need to make a change to, at the very least, transmit the message it’s not been an acceptable season.
  • I can’t see Nuno staying if ( not when !) we go down, the doors open for a free manager and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Parker, his record in getting teams promoted is great, the rest, that’s another debate…⚒️😢
  • The difference is Burnley couldn't supply a suitably large transfer budget to improve the squad once they got promoted.

And we would, given all of our reported financial woes
  • Expat, You never know promotion would increase the value of the club & we might get taken over?
  • I'm hoping that we'll be taken over sooner rather than later
  • Remaining in the EPL just might have made that happen it bit sooner but ......

All we need is to get up, don’t care if we sack him after promotion

Lop, Potter & Nuno have been disastrous appointments

That's the short termism that has got us in this situation.

I’m sick of us changing managers constantly. Nuno has got us to a points total that in most seasons would keep us up. He’s done plenty of dumb things under pressure but there have been times when we’ve looked really good. I’d back him to get us up and also do well with us if we came up. He came to a very dysfunctional team and first steadied it and then got us really pushing for survival.

The other thing is he wasn’t afraid to use young players in steadying the team. If we want a reset in the championship then I think he’s shown he might have the willingness to bring the young players in rather than buy a load of journeymen who won’t cut it if we get promoted again.

It would be really nice to try and have a long term manager rather than chopping and changing all the time.

I don't disagree with most of what you said, but IMO I just don't seem him staying, if the dreaded drop does sadly occur...
  • Yeah I can see that too.

So we just keep a man who has relegated us, that’s high standards indeed

Nuno hasn’t impressed me since being here, 32 games, 33 points, I haven’t seen really any huge improvement, a few wins when we sat deep & were clinical, negative formation changes & substitutions, strange tactical set ups, I expected far more, we still defend poorly in a lot of games & the disjointed nature of our press yesterday summed it up
  • We are currently £100m plus in debt. Why would we want to pay millions in compensation for sacking yet another manager. If he leaves on his own that’s a different issue"

Personally, I think the constant changes are part of what is destabilising the club, and helping to push us towards relegation.
  • I wanted Nuno to stay but now I see Pep might be available without having to pay compensation………….
  • If Pep leaves and Man City don’t win the League, this could be the perfect time to deduct them all of those points to relegate them.

It won’t happen, but just imagine.
  • I think most people instinct is to stick with a manager and allow to build but it has to be the right manager as applying that to Lopetgui or Potter would feel like a bad idea.

We’ve always been in debt since the owners joined in 2010

But his football is nothing like 'the West Ham way.' 🤷‍♂️
  • Nuno took over at Wolves after they’d finished in the bottom half (13th? 14th?) of the Championship

They finished top the next season

Nuno knows how to manage the Championship
  • So Pep is off then, with a year to go on his contract.
    115 reasons why?🤷🏻‍♂️
