    lol.....

I wonder, can we wear that in the FA Cup next year?

You know like the 3rd strip this year

    ;whistle
  • If money means nothing and its all about the family, he can buy himself out of his contract ;ok
  • I totally believe the family thing. I just think going on strike isn't the way to do it.

    Marseille preparing third bid
  • I'll be the first to say 21M (if I type this quickly)
  • Lots of stuff going around about how Payet is upset he's been made to look greedy when he's turned down offers from China.

Hold on. Marseille are the only club, including last summer, to make a bid. So has he just revealed tapping up?
  • Like the pay negotiations in the sketch in "Not The Nine O'Clock News", for those of us old enough to remember it, when they move off offering it in biscuits and include some money we might be interested. ;lol
  • If he's turned down offers from China then it can't only be Marseilles who've offered, non?
  • Baz, I mean the club. They've explicitly said there were no offers to the club in the summer and none have even been rumoured in January. So that's my point. If he's received offers, for definite, then they've bypassed the club. Ergo, tapped up.

Has he gone yet? And have we got a van load of cash?

How do you feel about a van load of cakes and biscuits?
    French fancies?
  • Nobody seems to care about tapping up anymore and I don't get why

He "only" earns 125K if all the bonuses come in, his basic is rumoured to be around 80K

Not quite true.....Sully got excited and mentioned someone asked and were told 100m (I think ;hmm )

I wouldn't worry, Slav let the "Tapping up" piece out of the bag the other day

For me, the why of it is irrelevant.

His behaviour in refusing to play is totally inexcusable.

It may well turn out he has family issues, and if so I will certainly feel sorry for him, but none of that could explain his actions, and that, for me, is what he should be judged on rather than the why's and wherefore's.

He has behaved disgracefully (assuming Slav's version is accurate, obvs.)

Apart from refusing to train or play, he has almost certainly colluded with Marseilles' tapping him up.
  • Wonder how long this has been going on for?

He must be in a pretty bad place to just down tools? Assuming it wasn't just a tactic
  • Not buying the family thing at all.
I don't believe you refuse to wear the shirt if your reason for leaving is that good. Seems like you'd just appeal to the club's compassion, rather than go on strike.

Payet has thrown sulks at other clubs - were they all because of his family?

Think some people are too eager to look for an excuse for the guy personally.

As for this report that he's turned down offers from China and England, this is surely agent-driven drivel and part of the Great French Backtrack - how can Payet have turned down offers when it's pretty clear WHU haven't accepted a single bid for the guy?
  • Well, he's apparently agreed terms with Marseille without an offer being accepted.
  • Well then he's been tapped up, but the idea that he's 'turned down' other attempts at tapping up seems to be worth almost nothing at all.

He hasn't turned anybody down until the club agree a deal and somebody offers him a contract.
  • No matter what he's done in the past and he does have form, not sure you can totally rule out any family problems.

Spin on both sides no doubt
  • Jorderz - he is supposed to have agreed terms with Marsielle before they even made an offer. The lad wants to go home (or more accurately Mrs Payet doesn't like Loughton. And who can blame her)
  • If Ms Brady is half as astute as she thinks she is on the apprentice she will be recognising that she holds all the cards, Marsaille have a new super rich owner, they have agreed terms with Dimi it appears, we have him on a long contract and he will not relish a choice between staying in London and training or having treatment for his 'injury' whilst his family is in France. So all she or of course Sullivan need do is state their price of 30m or 35m and say that is it not a penny less.

Marsaille and Dimi have no power and so to take 25m after paying 20m for Ayew would expose any rumours of our owners being a shrewd businessmen.. Likely an undisclosed fee job however.
  • C&Bsky - Sullivan gave Brady a job when she was 21 because her Dad was one of his biggest suppliers in his printing of porn mags. She has spent her entire career looking after DS's money.

Sullivan, Gold and Brady spent 15 years at Birmingham City and thought that Avram Grant was the manager to take us to a higher level.

They are clueless muppets. Anyone on this site has more of an idea of a good footballing decision than they do, we just don't have the money made out of porn and sex toys that they do.

De Nile is a river in Africa.

Dimi is sadly rotten to the core...
He has at the moment the attitude of a child brat..
I Couldn't care a less about his family or kids , man up....
He IMO is a disgrace to our football club..
Sell ASAP and let him leave London, I mean it's such a rubbish city ;doh
  • Who told him to live in Loughton?
  • Jorderz - he is supposed to have agreed terms with Marsielle before they even made an offer. The lad wants to go home (or more accurately Mrs Payet doesn't like Loughton. And who can blame her)

The other day you were saying not to believe anything except what Bilic has said, and barely even that! ;lol

How do you now know all of this?
  • jay ;ok

We all have to go to work with family issues, some times terrible things.

My wife has spent months of our relationship in Asia. I don't refuse to go into work ;ok

Think the family thing is a very, very easy backtrack after an unexpectedly vitriolic backlash, and also an awareness that perhaps Marseille aren't going to pay the kind of money WHU will sell for, meaning he might have to stay after all.
